Just wanted to wish everyone fun tonight at your monthly meeting and let you know that I wish I were down there for it. I'm now back up in San Francisco slaving away. However, I did have a chance this weekend to see a great show at San Francisco MOMA dedicated to Mexican Photography. It covered from about the 1920s up till today with all the usual folks represented: http://www.sfmoma.org/exhib_events/exhibitions/447

Daniel, maybe you can use this as an excuse to come up and visit!

Also a nice retrospective show of Rineke Dijkstra's portraits which were both beautiful and technically quite amazing. http://www.sfmoma.org/exhib_events/exhibitions/438

Anyway, just wanted to let you know that I'm thinking of you all,
Mark

Thanks, Mark, for these web sites. Wish I could see more of each show. I'll do the research.
I'm still toiling away on my portraits. New camera, Mark II (I know it's now an old camera) has improved quality of the pictures, which, of course, spurs me on to making new photos.
Our meetings are not the same without you.
Saludos
Roberta

Thanks, Mark, for these sites. I'm a big Deikstra fan.
I'll be in LA in June and will finally replace the stolen camera. I
have a new little MacBookAir - what's a good foto editing program to
get for it, given that I'm a techno-idiot? I'm eager to work.
Come back soon.
Un abrazo - Lini

Lini,

If you're looking for a editing AND organizing, then lightroom 4 is the way to go. If you're just looking for a simple photo editing program, you could either just use iPhoto, or there are a bunch of cool apps in the Apple App Store (for mac). For example, snapseed is only $20 and looks like a lot of fun. However, remember that most of these cheap apps only work with JPEG not RAW files. The two big RAW tools are Lightroom and Aperture, but iPhoto will also do basic changes on a RAW file as well.

All the best,
Mark
