[advocacy] Hanthana School Labs Project - Progress Report 2012 March 22

Project 1: Sagalapura College, Biganthalawa, Kadapola
Walapane Education Zone, Central Province

This was meant to be our maiden School lab and we promised them to provide new computers. This project can be initiated as soon as the computers are available. College has enough room for a laboratory and local politician have promised to provide the electricity supply.

Summary: 5 Computers required to initiate the project.
Note: 5 new computers are urgently needed.

Project 2: Malalgoda Siri Seewalee Primary College, Ahangama (Galle Education Zone)

Currently operational with one computer. There is a possibility to add three more computers after Sinhala Tamil New Year.

Note: Group of Officers of Asian Development Bank and Provincial Education Office inspected the school on March 21, 2012
Other Requirements: Need equipment for Electrical wiring and Computer networking

Project 3: Dekatana Primary College, Dekatana (Gampaha District)

School already has one computer

Note: 4 Computers required

Project 04: Herath Halmillawa College, Kabathigollawa

In progress of getting few used computers. This would be success most likely.

Note: Friends from Rajarata University or Anuradapura area with linux knowledge are required for initial training program.
Helping hands of two teachers Mr Athula Herath and Mr Thusitha Kumara are available for getting the used computers refurbished.
Sponsor is required to provide equipment (such as Capacitors, ICs) for the refurbishments.

Donations

1. Buddika Siddisena agreed to hand over his used computer after repairs.
2. Three used computers are about to receive via Gayan Kalhara
3. A private company has agreed to donate a New computer. This opportunity was achieved due to the promotion done by Sadeepa Palliyaguru
4. Mihira Fernando agrees to help with his LSTP knowledge.

Please provide us your helping hands to complete above 4 projects as soon as possible.
