Hello Brian,

I have a few concerns/questions:

- Are we sure we are doing the right thing by making the call so short? especially since the constitution indicates at least 14days before AGM [1]

- Was the nomination restricted to self in the past?

- There should have been a timeline for all these and it should be communicated to members ASAP!

- If the FOSSFA Chair (we) still want to continue with this process, then i did suggest the secretariat only handle the process.

Overall i am not comfortable with all this rush and un-constitutional process.

Greetings from Nairobi! #idlelo6 has started.

Today, we will open up nominations for African citizens willing to serve on the FOSSFA Council for the period 2014-2016.The nominations (self only) will open for a period of 48hours upon agreeing the dynamics.
(Mon - Wed, 3pm)

All received Nominations will be prepared for the e-ballot to be ready by Midnight on Wednesday.

Voting will take place for 24 hours ( ideally Thursday) and a new council will be announced on Friday, at the Community Summit.

Voting will be open to paid up members who will cast their vote online after receiving a unique code from the CTO/Secretariat. We have experience with this so it should not be a problem at all.

This email is for your information, as well as to seek your guidance on anything that we can do to make it a smoother electoral process.

The most important logistics for this exercise is a membership list from the Secretariat and a Voting platform from the CTO.

Self Nominating members will send a picture & Bio (half page) indicating committment to serve in a voluntary capacity for 2 years, and what they would like to bring on board. These emails will be received by the Secretariat.

Email will be sent to all of council and liaisons to circulate within the national networks as well as widely circulated on FOSSFA's social media accounts.
