Hello everybody,
It's been long time since I have communicated through FOSSC. Actually I thought, you people will be more active and keep up posting here, so I will get all the news and updates. But, unfortunately the enthusiasm expected is somewhat missing..
I know you people are going through tough times, since the arrival of new faculties, but still some time to knowledge sharing.. Doesn't look a big challenge to me.
I will try to keep this mail short, but if it's long, request you to read, and reply with your valuable comments, feedback, updates or anything related... I am eagerly awaiting for some action over here.
At the time of creation, our thought was to share knowledge, anything, any topic.. not just related to FOSS.... and also to motivate people to come up and use FOSS!! My personal experience says we have succeeded in that, slowly but surely we are getting more and more people involved.
But this not going to be enough, we need more!!
Recently, many juniors told me that, companies are expecting Linux knowledge. And if you ask me, if I am currently using it.. Then a big yes!! My FOSS knowledge gave me an edge over my colleagues, and I was considered for project requiring Linux knowledge before my seniors too.. So, I will say/request you people to take Linux more seriously, and even I got the news that new faculties are supportive towards Linux.
So, my request to you people is to come up with ideas, points or whatever!! Come up with points that you like about FOSSC and now NITJGLUG, and also what can be done more... and ultimately what you people expect. But, don't think like that your expectations are surely going to be met, we all need to work together to achieve/meet expectations.
Hope you people agree with me, and show some enthusiasm.. I am always there to help you people in all regards!! Don't dishearten me this time, I am not going to get involved more, if you people don't show you all really deserve it.
