Jeff at TECHdotMN inquired about obtaining a media pass for the event.  What's the protocol?

If they'd like to be a media partner, we can get them a media pass in exchange for kicking up some publicity on their site / twitter account. We'd also add a link to them on our site.

They had already written up that nice article at the end of March and have the event listed in their calendar, so I think we're good on that front.  Can we add the link to our site and then arrange the media pass?

I'd ask them to kick another announcement out now. We need all the help we can get in this homestretch. Media during or after-the-fact, frankly doesn't help us with our bottom line (despite being great for our "mission").

+1

There is no downside to issuing a media pass. All media interest and coverage is a good thing.

I'd agree that asking for any further promotion that is possible would be great, but their pass shouldn't be contingent on that.

I absolutely agree with MT.  Regardless of their ability to give us additional coverage in these last couple weeks we should still issue them a pass.

Alright, so....  Because they already did such a nice write-up for us back in March they aren't really able to offer an second one.  That said, we can certainly send out our own tweets to included @TECHdotMN and a link to their calendar entry.  Folks should also add comments to the original article, which I think then might appear on the sidebar of their website.

Do they simply register for the event with a special promo code or is there some other means?

-Paul
