It seems like there is never a good time to schedule Interest Groups (Birds Of a Feather).

Here is an idea.  What if we let people sign up to create the topic groups and then at lunch(s) and/or the cocktail reception, we put signs on tables or groups of tables for those interest groups.

This isn't a perfect solution, but my first shot at a idea.

I like it, best to keep it simple.  I think we then remind folks during lunch, breaks, plenaries, etc. to put a checkmark against a topic they would likely sit in for.  To get some sense of how much interest there is in each of the topics.

The code sprint is a BoF like event too.

Absolutely.  We should think about how we can help people and projects self-organize for that.

What I've seen before for BoF organization is having a place on site where people can register interest.  Nothing fancy, just enough so projects can announce they are planning to be there.

true, either setup a board in the main walkway at the venue, or setup a
wiki page and fire an email/tweet pointing to that page - and let it
happen on its own.

Trick is to outline the exact rooms and timeslots available.

Jim,

Ok, I re-read your email, and now (think) I understand things, one problem though, how do I list out GOZER revision number?  I can’t find and .svn files anywhere??

The problem that I was trying to solve is when to have the BoF's.  We have the schedules packed pretty much all day with concurrent sessions, plenaries, lightning talks, etc.

Unless people decide to do it on Friday, there really is no good time slot for BoFs.  My suggestion was to let them self-organize, but maybe facilitate a way that people could meet during the Wednesday reception or during a lunch.  We could put signs on tables where people could gather during those events to talk.
