Thoughts on spam

Are there other legitimate members of this group who are annoyed at the
recent spate of emails advertising jobs? I know the group is pretty
inactive but I find these really annoying.

If there are any moderators is this permitted?

And please post if you are a legitimate member, otherwise I will assume
that there is no one else other than me and the spammer, and I'll leave.

Hi,

I'm a 'normal' user of this list and to be honest, I was a little up in the air on that subject.  There could be some members that could benefit from such job postings however that is not the expressed intent of the list.

Either way is fine with me.  I could black-list the spammer and not have to see the messages.  Or, a moderator could get rid of him.

There used to be real members… and a moderator. 

Group seems to have died though.

I still lurk on the list, and am more disappointed than annoyed when
list activity turns out to be spam.

Perhaps I should post an update about my 'thinobject' scheme which I've
previously posted about and which I'm still using and developing...

Still here  . . . I had the same thoughts as Will - it might be useful for some folks - but I also think that the sheer volume (not to mention the brightly colored HTML) is making it seem like spam.

Perhaps the sender would be willing to humor those active on the list by reducing it to a weekly or bi-weekly digest and a format that's more fitting for scripters who are used to ASCII . . .
