        Hey brothers!!!
I have a project as an assignment to complete within a very short time range... And I have no idea how to do it...:(... Can you please suggest me about how to do it???

The project is on : how to construct a Network computer. The concept of thin Client (Cloud Computing ) is involved. I need to include the process of building the Network Computers, their Snap shots and PXE Booting.  This has been really hard for me as I have been doing assignments of other Modules too. .. I really need some of your suggestions and helps regarding this...

Thanks in Advance...:)

Dear Ashish,
Network is Build on basis the TCP/IP protocol. Its true you can somehow
compare the framework of thin client to cloud, small centralized one.
Whereas the cloud is much for the commercial purpose. I don't see the
point of snapshots and PXE Booting. State your purpose Clearly?

You got to give a effort yourself We will happy to guide you, not do the
homework. Do it yourself foss-nepal is not the place where you dump your
homework and get it done and its true for any place!

Hi Rohit,

My guess is he is more looking onto a cloud solution, where you have your storage and boot image loaded in separate locations. And you boot some hardware/software (thinclient/softclient) in some other location using the resource of the place where the softclient/thinclient is running.

Snapshots are for the storage(OS/user data of the machine the user is booting). And PXE is to say provision the machine for the user or something similar.

But Ashish, you need to state specifically as what help you require from us, we can probably help you with ideas and probable test cases, and help you logically.

P.S: I'd say thinclient need not be a small centralized one, rather thinclient solutions can be way bigger (infrastructure wise and commercially) and its one of those great things you can reap off of a cloud. Thinclient or say softclient would be a portal for the user to interface with their system that would stay on the cloud.

Regards,
Gaurav

Dear Rho

I have not asked Foss Nepal to do my homeworks. If I had the intention to make it do by someone other than myself, then Google would have been a better solution than Foss nepal, isn't it?  So, please be clear that I have not asked anybody to do my homework. I have just asked to give me some ideas on how to solve or get started on it. If this is also against the norms and values of Foss - Nepal, apologies from my side.

Anyways, thanks for posting a reply. But I think it was quite offending to me. My intention was not the one you assumed!!!

Dear Gaumire,

Thanks for trying to understand my Scenario though you felt it quite uncleared :). I really appreciate that.

I have been researching hard on the topic. Actually I need to document on a brief description about thin client computing on two different platforms ( One on Linux and One on Windows), comparision between thin and fat client computing, their costs, advantages and disadvantages as my theory part. I have almost completed the research. But the harder part I am facing is in the practical portion. I need to connect to a server in the given website in the assignment and boot as a client with the required configurations and show the snapshots of my works step-wise and of course provide the documentation.

Now, in conclusion, I had asked to give me some general ideas on how to get going or getting started. Sincerely speaking, I'm not asking anybody to do my works. This is my job and I will do it myself. But if asking these kinds of helps are against your rules please forgive me.

Regards
Ashish
