Hello,
I am using Dual boot; Ubuntu and Windows XP. Linux is running smoothly
but Windows crashed down. In windows, it appears a blue screen for a
blink and it restarts. I need to restore mysql database in Windows?
How can I do it from Ubuntu. I am using Ubuntu 9.04. Please help.

there might be other ways but this should be simple

copy whole mysql installation directory to another windows machine. install mysql service there using the path you copied to.. take a dump and resore in your ubuntu.

you can install by using:-

<path>\mysql\bin\mysqld-nt --install mysqlserv --defaults-file=<path>\my.ini

net start mysqlserv
