Dear all ,

The establishment of Internet Governance Forum (IGF) by the United Nation (UN) is seen as an innovation new approach to global policy making.  It offers a discussion space for multi-stakeholder and offer unique opportunity for bottom-up policy development related to the Internet by linking togethter Governement, Private Sector,NGO/INGOs, civil society ,technical and academic community.

The third meeting of IGF is going to be held in Hyderabad, India from 3-6 December 2008. There are five main subjects of the IGF -
access, openness, diversity, security and critical Internet resources - for the manangement and development of internet.

ISOC Nepal Chapter , High Level Commission for Information Technology [ HLCIT ] & Forum for Digital Equality [FDE] is going to organize Open Discussion and consolidated meeting on Internet Governance by inviting different stake holders on 27 Nov 2008 , 1 to 4 PM at HLCIT Auditorium, Singha Durbar, Kathmandu. All are invited for the open discussion.   Please send your confirmation for the attendance by tomorrow afternoon 3 PM with your name and phone no.

6) Four sisters for developing countries - Information security, spam , e-Governance & Data Protection

Openness :

7) Emerging Cyber law issues
8) Freedom of Expression in cyberspace in interent filtering & censorship
9) Steps towards an Internet that is multilingual , yet remains global

Security :

10) an interpol for the internet
11) child safety online measure to protect children from exploitation - the challenge of keeping pace with technological development
12) Medicines on the web - risks & benifits

Critical Internet Resources :

13) IPV6 : The solution for the future Internet

Develoopment & Capacity Building :

14) Can Internet Governance change global futures ? or will global futures change internet governance ? using the scenario to map the relationship between Internet Governance & other Global characters

15) Internet & climate change

16) The role of Internet Exchange points in creating interent capcacity & bridging autonomy to developing nations
