It would be a one day long event, were people will focus on the FOSS
Lab Manual project. The timings will be from 9:30am to 6:00pm. We will
decide the venue later on. If things go well, we will do more such
events in the future.

Vijay Kumar

Baskar, Arun and Shrini, thanks for showing your interest in the
sprint. Due to an unexpected work, I will not be available this
Sunday. Will try to schedule the sprint at a later date.

Vijay
Can we schedule the sprint coming Sunday at Zilogic Systems?
Since we are running late, thought we could break up the lab manual
into three parts. And deliver the parts as and when they are
completed. From the sessions file, the first part would have
3:Getting Started
5:Python
5:GUI Programming
2:Virtualization
The second part would have
2:Installing Various Software Packages
2:Compiling from source
2:Introduction to Package Management System
3:Version Control System
5:PHP
The third part would have
5:Perl
3:Setting up the complete Network
4:Writing Userspace Drivers
4:Kernel Configuration, Compilation and Installation
The target for this sprint would be to work towards the completion of
the first part. I will be able to complete Python before the
sprint. That leaves us with GUI Programming and Getting Started.
I will get permission from Zilogic to re-use the assignments that we
have developed for our Using GNU/Linux training programme. We will
need to adapt the assignments to our lab manual format.
For the GUI Programming, if people are ready to write the section
using Gambas, we could do it in Gambas. Or if there are no other
takers, I could help write the section for Python + GTK.
In short, here is the task list for the sprint.
1. Getting Started - (adapt from existing assignments)
2. GUI Programming
3. Contribute to any of the other sessions.
Regards,
Vijay
