News from National Peace Corps Association

Relive the Energy, Stories and Spirit of Peace Corps Connect 2025!

Despite the challenging year our community has faced, Peace Corps Connect 2025 showcased what makes us so special—excitement, enthusiasm, optimism, and togetherness. More than 350 conference participants attended 37 sessions featuring 68 speakers, while approximately 1,000 people—including RPCVs, friends, and changemakers—took part in all our events over our four days together in D.C. We came to reconnect, reflect, and reimagine the future of service.

Given the current state of international development, this was the most consequential gathering of RPCVs in recent memory. Thank you for making it so meaningful and memorable.

Missed the Conference? Here are a few highlights—and stay tuned for more videos in the coming weeks!

Reimagining National Service: Building a Culture of Civic Commitment
What does national service look like in a changing America? Leaders from AmeriCorps, Peace Corps, and beyond explore how service can address major challenges like climate change and polarization, while strengthening civic identity. Watch the panel here.
Dr. Allison Greene, CEO of the Peace Corps, delivered the July 18 keynote, "Activating the Spirit of Service: Put Me in Coach." With 30+ years of leadership in government, nonprofits, and academia, she explored how Peace Corps advances national service through innovative partnerships, new service models, and the values of RPCVs. Watch the full recording here.
Follow our Instagram account for the latest reels and news from the conference. We’ll continue posting reels and updates in the coming weeks, highlighting the inspiring panels, speakers, awards, and other moments from Peace Corps Connect 2025. Watch our latest reel here.
Now that the conference is behind us, continue to network with other Returned Peace Corps Volunteers on the brand-new Peace Corps Connect+ Alumni Network. This is the new virtual village where the entire Peace Corps Community is gathering.

August is Make-A-Will Month
Support RPCVs beyond your lifetime and join the Legacy of Peace

As Returned Peace Corps Volunteers (RPCVs), we have dedicated years of our lives to service, and August is the perfect time to reflect on how we can continue to serve beyond our lifetimes. Your Peace Corps service changed everything—how you see the world, what you believe is possible, and who you have become. And when you returned home, NPCA was there to help keep that connection alive. By including National Peace Corps Association (NPCA) in your will or other planned giving account, you join NPCA’s Legacy of Peace Society

The Legacy of Peace is composed of some of the most dedicated RPCVs, who committed to expanding opportunities for others, championing service, and helping to build a more peaceful and just world. Your legacy gift will transform lives and inspire future changemakers.

This month, take time to reflect on how you wish to be remembered by creating your will at FreeWill.com and consider naming NPCA as a beneficiary. If you already have a will and would like guidance on how to include NPCA in your will, please visit here or contact us here.

Advocacy Corner
Take Action this August and September

A successful Capitol Hill advocacy day is behind us, with more than 170 Peace Corps supporters making the case for strong Peace Corps funding and a congressional gold medal to honor the historic service of Peace Corps Volunteers.

Our work continues with renewed urgency, as the recently passed House National Security, State Department, and Related Programs (NSRP) Appropriations bill for the next fiscal year represents a $20 million dollar cut from the $430.5 million recommended by the president.

We need you to help keep the momentum going! Whether you can organize an August district office meeting with your member(s) of Congress, plan and participate in a nationwide series of rallies on September 21 or 22, or submit an op-ed supporting the Peace Corps, your leadership is essential. Please fill out this form to help lead an activity in your state or region.
