Earlier this year, FoSL supported a project with $2,000 to add doors and windows to Conforti Community Aid Children's Organization’s new Mothers and Children Health Clinic in Calaba Town, Freetown. We have an update!
The clinic main building is nearing completion and they are still raising finances to complete the project. The next step is the verandah and waiting area at a cost of £3000. They are in negotiation with CARITAS and the Catholic Relief Society to work in partnership with Conforti and Western Health to provide maternal and child health services once the clinic is complete. In the short term, in order to get the site up and running, they will run a diabetes testing clinic and diabetes education programme + malaria testing, including the provision of anti-malarial medication. Francis met with some of the community mothers and their children today (photo attached) and they wish to thank you for your sponsorship, and "with God's blessing the project will complete".
As always, thank you for your donations to support projects like this!
Take care,
The FoSL Board
