At our FoSL Board Retreat last week, the FoSL Board approved 3 more community-based projects in Sierra Leone.
First, we are proud to support Civil Society Movement Against TB. In Sierra Leone, undiagnosed TB is a real problem. The FoSL Board voted to approve a $3500 project grant for motorbikes to reach people in Port Loko for outreach.
Additionally, FoSL voted to support Uman n Pikin Wel Bodi Project, originally a Belgium organization. This project is to address breast cancer awareness outreach. The $4000 grant will be used to train 100 health workers in Tonkolili (Makeni) for the outreach.
Lastly, the FoSL Board voted to approve a $2000 grant for computers and hardware for the Taiama Secondary School in Taiama, Sierra Leone. We have worked with this school before and we know that our funds are used effectively and efficiently.
Good luck to all our grant recipients and we are excited to see your successes!
Take care,
The FoSL Board
