Hi FoSL Members,
We have an update from the Mamaka Project!
The drip lines are coming from our FOSL funded water tank, which is filled via our solar pump from our 200’ deep borehole well. This is the first of what should be many collaborative efforts with Central University. (The gentleman with the briefcase is Muckson’s younger brother, Chancellor of CU.) Again, this illustrates the “value added” of the Mamaka Project. I’m sure there must be one other big coop doing things in SL, but we represent 216 farmers, and three years of successful operation, and those characteristics resonate with international donors. We are an agricultural laboratory for many different crops and income generating activities. This project brings in a CU-screened list of young people from across the country for hands on learning. They will go back to their home villages with a new perspective on agriculture as a business.
Take care,
The FoSL Board
