Funded by donations as well as various FoSL Project Grants over the years, the Mamaka Project now serves 216 farmers (95 men and 116 women), over 585 acres under cultivation, across 3 Sierra Leonean villages: Mamaka, Ropothka, and Mamorka. Here are pictures to show a short update on the progress of the Mamaka Project. The rains have been more normal this year and the rice harvest looks promising. Cassava will be harvested when we get the Processing Center completed. Ginger is a new crop being planted this year by some of the women. It will be sold with other Mamaka products, like palm oil and honey, in the women’s Mile 91 shop. Visit our FoSL website for a complete update on this project:
