Silver Region Program: call for proposals

"The Silver Region is the first multilateral fund focused on  strengthening care services, preventing dependency, improving care and long-term care, empowering and training of caregivers and older people (over 60 years) in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). 

This is a program created by IDB Lab, the innovation and venture capital laboratory of the Inter-American Development Bank Group, together with the Arturo Sesana Foundation, IDRC and GRADE and the support of Latimpacto and Innpactia.

Eligibility Criteria 

Applicants must:

a) be organizations formally constituted as legal entities and that operate directly in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC),

b) have a history of operations of at least one (1) year, 

c) have innovative projects that involve technology as a central axis in the positive social impact of the elderly population (+60) and their caregivers,

d) have sales.

2. The initiatives subject to submission must revolve around at least one of the following three (3) topics: 

a) Innovative services in older people (60+ years) care, enhancing quality and increasing the quantity of offerings to meet the exponential demand in the LAC region;

b) Caregiver’s training - it represents the backbone of service quality in the sector;

c) Prevention of care dependence (physical and cognitive) and promotion of autonomy in older people (60+ years) to extend a healthy lifespan, ensuring that dependent individuals can maintain a level of functional capacity compatible with their basic rights, fundamental freedoms, and human dignity.

3. The initiatives presented must have already been implemented by the Applicants in some markets in the LAC region to be implemented in any other market in that region.

4. The proposals must be implemented in one or more of the 26 borrowing member countries of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).

Applicants can be Startups, Scaleups, Social Enterprises, Foundations / Non-profit Organizations, Corporations, Universities / Think Tanks.
