"D-Prize is for new organizations.
Most of our awardees are first-time entrepreneurs.
Most have not yet launched their organization, nor have they raised other funding.
We especially encourage those from low-and-middle income countries to apply.
Eligibility Criteria
1. D-Prize challenges are open to:
a) anyone or any team;
b) any business model (for-profit, non-profit, and everything in between).
2. You:
a) should have enormous ambition and can imagine yourself as a successful entrepreneur;
b) are ready to launch your new venture, and if a pilot proves successful you are excited to grow it into a world-changing organization;
c) should have a clear idea of how to transition into a full-time founder.
3. Startup grants of up to $20,000 to entrepreneurs launching new organizations.
4. D-Prize is exclusively interested in ventures that will scale the distribution of an already proven poverty intervention in the developing world.
We do not fund prototypes of promising new interventions.
We typically will not support organizations with more than 18 months of full time operations or that have raised more than $30,000 USD in outside funding.
