How to check whether Income Tax Return Acknowledgement (ITR-V) is genuine or fabricated?

Observe ITR-V carefully

You can verify the ITR-V on the basis of some observations tools (applicable when return is not digitally signed), as given below:

1. Confirm that last six digits of acknowledgement number is date of filing return, as mentioned on the acknowledgement.

2. Check bar code carefully, the first 10 characters is the PAN, also check bar code also contain 15 digits acknowledgement number.

Format is Pan+15 digit Ack code+date of filing

Good information but there is a correction in Bar code structure

 

Format is Pan+ITR Form no.(viz 01,02,03,..) +15 digit Ack number+date of filing

It’s a good piece of information. However, barcode starts with follows,

 

PAN+2 digits+15 digit Ack (including date of filing).

 

I have no idea what that 2 digits after PAN stands for.
