We all are
forgetting one simple fact that poor Suhel needs a cheap publicity only &
we only feeding him by our reactions.
Better we take the matter with The Telegraph & censure the publication
house since ultimately their responsibility what to publish & what not.

02.Dear Professional Colleagues,
The population of
India is exceeding approx 110 Crores at its present if I am not wrong. Would
one be able to keep a track of everything which is being said about us
"The CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS" by such a huge mass of people either good
or bad? If the answer to this question is in the negative then
why bother? Is it so that we are bothering about the case at hand as this has
been said by a celebrity? If this is so then the perpetrators of this hate mail
calling for a national level condemnation is baseless.
The Corporate
world and the people who matter do know our value and the Professionalism which
we portray in our services to the nation as has rightly been acknowledged by
the former president of India by terming us as the "Partners in Nation
Building". Then why a national level condemnation for such a sporadic
stupid act committed by a person is being called for??
This is just a waste of resources and our valuable time. We should demonstrate
maturity in dealing with matters not only with respect to professional matters
but also in dealing with the society. There will be
some people in every every field who would try to create unnecessary
controversies and we should try and completely ignore it.
Moreover Mr. Suhel Seth is a noted columnist having a particular style and was
just referring to a particular case at hand by trying to sarcastically solve
her problem by relating her problem to the people in general and help this kid.
Hence I would kindly request you all to please ignore this and not to use this Excellent forum for unnecessary publicising any issue out of proportion.

04.Dear Professional colleagues
I fully endorse CA Partha Roy's views that this
matter should be stopped at this level.
Any protest or condemnation will only land
up giving credibility to the utter garbage that suhel seth
spews in the column, where such comments were made.
If we can then we must exert pressure
on such newspapers that carry such nonsensical articles , by stopping
patronage of such news papers through our clients' good offices, and that
would be a proper way of dealing with such columns and columnists, leave
alone condemning the details of what it contains.

05.I have seen how everyone has condemned the remarks made by Suhel
Seth and surely such remarks against any profession or community needs to be
condemned and the person be taken to task. We live in a democratic country does
not means that we can get liberties to speak anything. Besides this I also want
to mention here that the poor girl who is facing it all also needs to grow up.
Just becoz some men are staring at her makes her feel so bad that she does not
wants to do the course is not the way forward. She has to grow up and set

I fully agree with Shri Jhunjhunwala. We should not place so much importance to a comment (though I believe has been made in a lighter vein) made by a mere columnist.
Surprisingly,
nobody is talking about the stupid query placed by a CA student. Boys staring
at girls...do u find anything strange? This has nothing to do with her doing CA
I believe. I also wonder how this girl can
pursue CA & the practical training involved with the course.!!! I find this
girl ineligible to carry on with the course.
Last but not the least..I wonder if our CA community could come out so strongly & in a united manner to thwart unjustified measures taken by the Govt. say for eg. Service Tax on services rendered by us...just look at the Lawyer community..even they render similar services...But..
Being a CA and a Marwadi myself (& proud to be so) I can fully understand the feelings of my fellow colleagues but still I feel its better to IGNORE a simple columnist's immature comments & MOVE AHEAD with our profession.

10.I personally feel that a coveted english daily like " THE
TELEGRAPH "should not encourage this type of articles , which insults a
particular profession and humiliates a community . At the same time The
Telegraph should not be dependent on Articles from like of Suhel Seth , who
does not have moral values with Indian society in particular. His comments were
always sarcastic and of very cheap type.
If the mangement of the english daily " The Telegraph " are of the
opinion that thier sales/readers will increase with this kind of cheap
articles, they are totally mistaken.
I am regualr reader of "The Telegraph" since last 30 years , but if
they resort to this kind of practice for increasing thier sales/volume,
probably they have not understood their readers properly.
As far as Suhel seth is concerned , he is a frustrated guy ,probably do not what a CA profession/ or a Chartered Accountant is and therfore does not fit into our level of comments even.

He thinks he is an intelligent person. But it appears that he is not only not intelligent he is mischievious also.
What surprised me the most is as to how The Telegraph can allow such obnoxious comment find a place in the paper.

23. t's quite surprising to note that such person is a noted columnist and people ask for his advice. Probably by passing such remarks he wanted to remain in limelight.I remember one e mail about seven blunders told by our Nation Father Ghandhiji -one of them is 'Knowledge without character' seems to be fit for this case.

You have clever people who can do CA in almost every community in India. Why single out a MARWARI ? I am myself not a MArwari.
We may crack a lot of jokes on Marwaris generally in terms of their money mindedness or their miserly ways. But in real terms thsese jokes stop just right there.
In reality, their understanding of the situations specially in midst of business or Social actiivities is remakable. The more the jokes that I may tell on a MArwari, the more is my respect for them. My Marwari friends all know that it is out of sheer love and respct that I would pick up a good joke on a MArwari. (Of course I always pick up decent jokes , for that matter on anyone).
Their understanding of matters with deep insight, their oneness, their integrity kindness, hospitality are all second to none. Historically Marwar has borne the brunt of many attacks.Their land has seen more droughts and famines. In spite of these, they have stood fast by their culture and values and prospered.
With our salutaions to the MArwaris, I think we should stop right here this unpleasant chapter of some guy making such a remarks.

I suggest that we create an online petition at http://www.petitiononline.com and circulate the link of that petition to all the members for signature, and then the petition could be submitted to The Telegraph.
This whole process could be managed online very easily, and would require minimal time of the members for lodging adequate protest against such an irresponsible act of publishing such hateful and mis-guiding comments by The Telegraph.
