Query:Trade Licence & Profession Tax Registration
Dear All,
I hv recently started my new practice, plz guide me ASAP on whether we being practicing CA's need to obtain Trade Licence from the Local Municipality and profession tax enrolment is necessary or not.
Plz help in this regard with reference to West Bengal.

Professional Tax Registration is req'd but, Trade Licence may not be required as we are doing profession and not business.

Yes you have to take Trade Licence & enroll yourself for Professional Tax

Since you have started practice in the name of firm you have to obtain trade
licence and profession tax registration

Yes, u have to obtain both Trade licence and P.tax.

Irrespective of the fact that whether u r a CA or not you have to obtain the
trade licence and pay professional tax at the required slab rate to concerned
authorities.

Dear Mr. Jain, Both the Trade Licence and P. Tax is compulsory for
you. It is levied by the Local Authority/Government.
