Dear Mr Aswini Kar 

Pl note that the Stamp Duty is a State Subject and is governed by the local 
Stamp Duty enactments. Hence it is better to look into the relevant State 
Laws. You have not mentioned where the firm is going to be formed.

In West Bengal highest stamp duty payable for a Partnership Deed is Rs.150/- only.

The stamp duty payable needs to be calculated on the following basis;

(a) where the capital of the partnership does not exceed Rs. 500 - Stamp Paper of Rs. 20/- required;

(b) where the capital of the partnership exceeds Rs. 500 but does not exceed Rs. 10, 000 - Rs.50/- stamp paper is required;

(c) where the capital of the partnership exceeds Rs.10, 000 but does not exceed Rs. 50, 000 - Rs.100/- stamp paper is required;

(d) where the capital of the partnership exceeds Rs.50, 000. - Rs.150/- stamp paper is required.

Capital of Partnership = Total Aggregate Initial Capital contribution of all the Partners.
