The Alaska Dept of Fish and Game upgraded their CTD15 web apps to CTD2000
and put them into production in October, 2000. We have discovered a SERIOUS
bug in the Centura software that Centura engineers are now working on. The
problem is if your apps are running in dedicated mode and a user generates a
serialization error and then times out, the application console does not
terminate the session cleanly. The next user is denied access and the app
console then changes the max processes to 1. Until the app service within
the app console is shutdown and then started back up, no one can access the
web app.
This scenario happens so often that our production application is
practically useless. We have been down more in the last 2 weeks using
CTD2000 than during the entire last year using CTD1.5.We are now in the
process of converting back to 1.5.
Until this problem is fixed, don't upgrade to CTD2000!
