Hallo,

I posted the message below three weeks ago in forum CTD, but got no
response.

I really would like somebody from Centura (or any other person who can help)
to step in and help to answer this question. It shouldn't be that difficult
for Centura.

Thanks for any help you may provide

Hi folks,

just started to play around with Repbi15.exe / repbi20.exe.

With the 'Define Query button' I added my local server and ok I can see my
databases.
With a double-click on the database name I want (providing user and
passwort) I can see my tables.
Again with a double-click I select one table, and after pressing
'OK'-button, I get my first basic report.

I can save my result as 'anyreport.cqt.'

When I try to exchange the accessed database (let say from 'testdb' to
'livedb', which has exactly the same layout) I get a warning that I will
loose all my currently defined selections and I have to start from
scratch!!!

In good old Quest it was (even if clumsy) possible to exchange the active
database, without having to recreate the complete selections, groupings,
etc?? We supplied to the users only the *.QQT's and the corresponding
*.QRP's and the users were able to exchange the database to be accessed by
themselves.

Is this not possible with Report Builder??
If not, are there other, better routes to go??
What is the correct mechanism to achieve this?

I tried to get hints in the online help and in the pdf-manuals, but ended up
with nothing (the docu is very sparse on these topics).

Thanks for any insight you may provide

Franz Josef
