Dear friends,

Wish you all happy new year !

As you know, Hon’ble MERC had given gift starting from this new year by allowing night tariff rebate to 250 paise per unit up to 31.03.2013.  But in the Order, it is clearly spelt out by the Hon’ble Commission that basing on the experience gained in the three months, MSEDCL is directed to approach the Commission for seeking extension of time of this benefit by detailing out the Cost Benefit Analysis for further implementation of revised TOD rebate during night off-peak hours.

Therefore, it is necessary to widely publicize to all the industries working 24 hours to utilize Contract Demand by 75% during Day hours and 100% during night off-peak hours to get maximum benefit. Otherwise reduce consumption during peak hours (0900 hrs – 1200 hrs and 1800 hrs – 2200 hrs) and consume 100% during night hours. Advise to install Maximum Demand Controller to avoid exceeding Contract Demand which attracts penalty. It is necessary to encourage industrial consumers working in single or two shifts to shift their operations during night off peak hours.

Plead all the industrial consumers to provide data how much consumption had been shifted to night hours so that it can be submitted before Hon’ble Commission for further extension of rebate from April 13.

With regards,
