Professor Jacobs,

Yeah, here's the story with the U of R thing.  I was reading an article over break about the potential for gaming in education, potential roadblocks and assets to development etc.  I noticed that one of the people quoted in the article was from the U of R, so I did some research and found out she is the head professor of Brain and Cognitive sciences, and is currently engaged in some research projects dealing with educational gaming.  I decided to send her an email telling her about what we're working on and the possibility of us cooperating in the future.  Well as you can see she emailed me back and apparently she had already been in contact with Phelps and Bayliss and they've been doing some brainstorming, however, she seemed interested in organizing a meeting where we could discuss our different projects.  So, I guess the next step is to organize that meeting (I guess any time we can get the group together in the Innovation Center would be good) and see what comes out of it.

Whoops, you weren't one of the recipients. Here. Eric emailed her a couple days ago. I can't find his original email, but it was a pretty epic email explaining what we were doing and how we may possibly be able to work together. I believe he saw her name in an article she had written for something. Her and some other professors are working on research dealing with adolescent/children cognition and other various forms of studying the human brain as it is learning.

Dear Eric,

Thanks for your email and interest. I am in touch with Jessica Bayliss and  Andrew Phelps in your program. We are brainstorming about math games for early math (Pre-K to 2nd grade).... I am not sure how that may fit with your specific program!  I am ccing them and may be we can organize a visit where some of my colleagues (in particular Jessica Cantlon who works on number cognition) and myself could come and get a presentation/demo of what you are doing?

Best wishes
Daphne
