On this theme, has anybody tried ANY Fortran Compiler on top of a MS
Version 7 operating system?
I'm holding off of Vista because of what I hear (including from giant
hardware makers).
My local DELL office is running all the hardware demos on V7, but
still only offering boxes with Vista for delivery till end October.
We need a new box (we have running W3.1 on a 386; W95 and W98 on two
Toshibas; NT on a Pantera; Windows 2000 Professional on CAM1 hand-
built towers;.NP on a Dell laptop; nothing with Vista). We deliver
commercial Fortran-compiled big computing applications suites for all
these (same source, single compilation, but have to check everything
runs on every O/S (including DOS and DOS emulation on Macintosh). For
native Windows mode, we compile with DVF for each target separately,
(where possible), with same source but different interface library)..
