Welcome to the Fortan Thermodynamics Mathematics group!!!

The subject of this post is still quite general but I would like to
point out the interconnections between the three. Fortran firstly
appeared in 1954 and stands for FORmula TRANslating system, as you may
all know. Thermodynamics is a bit older (see for example Boyle, 1656),
but Mathematics are the eldest one.

Have fun!

The sixth problem of Hilbert was: "Can physics be axiomized?" Until now
there is no solution to the problem, as far as I know. How could this
be achieved in the frame of fluid mechanics and transport phenomena.
Restricting the field a bit, we may assume systems with no reaction but
with phenomena like phase transition, diffusion, compressibility and so
on. The first step would be to set the axioms and end up with some
equations that do not involve any models. This may have been done for
some parts of the theory, i.e. separately for chemical thermodynamics
and fluid dynamics, but not as a whole. After all axioms and base
equations are formulated, then one should describe "reality" with
models.

PS. If there is something done in this direction, I would be glad to be
informed.
