Invitation for Guided Walk in the Army’s Historic Impact Area on May 4, 2019

Dear Friend.
Here’s an opportunity to see the land inside the historic Impact Area of the Fort Ord National Monument. Guided walks are scheduled for May 4, 2019 and hosted by our office, the U.S. Army Fort Ord Base Realignment and Closure Office. There will be a choice of a 1.6 mile walk (an easy walk) or a 4 mile walk (with several grade changes). Participation is limited to 100 individuals. Reservations are required. Go to the news section at FortOrdCleanup.com for details including driving directions to the departure location. Please plan on a 3 hour event due to the safety briefing and discussion of the Army’s cleanup program. This is a free event.
How to make a reservation
Send an email to Melissa.M.B...@mail.mil or call (831) 393-1284. Please indicate the number of participants and your preferred walk (long or short). If participants are under 18, you can also email the waiver. Or, if you are the guardian, just complete it at the registration table.
The deadline for reservations is April 29, 2019.

9:00 to 9:45 Open House
9:45 to 10:00 Mandatory Safety Briefing
10:00 Depart for short and long walks
Note You must be at the departure location no later than 9:45 a.m. for the safety briefing.
If you are under 18 read this: If you participate in the guided walk inside the Impact Area and you are not yet 18 years old, you must have a parent or guardian sign a waiver which must be turned in at the registration table prior to the event. Waivers will be available at the registration table. A copy of the waiver is also available at FortOrdCleanup.com – go to the news section.
