Dear Friend,
We are often asked about volunteer cleanup/restoration opportunities on the former Fort Ord. It is our pleasure to let you know about Fort Ord National Public Lands Day on October 26, 2019.
Join other volunteers on the Fort Ord National Monument and lend a hand in landscaping a trailhead, spreading straw on a restoration site, collecting native plant seed, controlling invasive weeds, or performing other rewarding work in a beautiful setting. Volunteers to the Saturday event will be treated to a free lunch courtesy of Fort Friends and entertainment following the work project. Please register to volunteer at
https://signup.com/go/DEfQrJzPlease wear closed-toe shoes and appropriate clothing for outdoor work.
Sorry, no dogs are allowed.
The Fort Ord National Monument is all about conserving natural resources, enhancing and improving recreation opportunities, and honoring the military heritage of this special place. The National Public Lands Week event in October embraces those elements.
Details and a map to the event are in the news section of FortOrdCleanup.com
Thank you!
