Fort Ord trails a mess
Another Thanksgiving holiday and another mass equestrian event in the
old Fort Ord. Is it just me, or does pulverizing the trails into dust
and leaving horse dung everywhere show a lack of respect for all other
trail users at best or disdain at worst?
Couple this with the Bureau of Land Management's closure of an area
where at least six trailheads meet for an unexploded ordnance search
and you have just got to wonder. If I was a conspiracy theorist, I
would envision this state of affairs as just more evidence of a grand
scheme by the powers that be to close down a few more trails
until ...
Does it seem that far-fetched that one day soon we will all be on the
outside looking in?
