Went riding 8-14 with my girlfriend and a neighbor and came across a
huge illegal dump adjacent to Inter-Garrison Road not far from the
CCCX course. E-waste, mattresses debris, cabinets, chairs, paper, etc.
It made us want to vomit. All identifying marks had been removed i.e.
labels torn off mail and labels removed from the boxes. What is the
jurisdiction in this area and who can we call to report it? Sadly, I
think it is the same area that was mentioned in the Herald article a
few weeks back about Illegal Fort Ord dumping.

Has anyone else seen this? What can we do?

I also saw a large dump of paint, solvents, etc., cans all stacked together on Sunday, Aug. 10, at the end of 8th Avenue near the PGE pipeline easement, while riding..

I will find out for you. Thanks for being concerned enough to try and find
out. I will get back to you. I have forwarded the information to the
Director of the BLM property at Ft. Ord and will let you know what he says.

Pam,

Thanks a lot for forwarding the info.

Ironically, a lot of the stuff that is being dumped can be dropped off
(or donated) at the Marina dump for little or no cost.

I'm sure there's a number of us out there who would be willing to
participate in a clean-up too.

I found a link to the Herald Article that was posted to the Fort Ord
users group.

It also looks like you can report trash problems here:
