Secondwhile I have the latest updated version of OS on my iMac, my printer, Canon Prima MX870 series 2, does support duplex printing and I use it all the time for duplex printing my word documents I send to the printer, I cannot figure out how to duplex print my adobe reader PDF files or any PDF files for that matter. I have followed all instructions that I could find about how to turn it on, however none of the instructions work. I have clicked on "printer" and when my screen comes up it shows duplex printing "off" in light gray and I cannot change it to "on" and no where on my iMac screen does it show anything called "properties" which some other instructions tell me to click on.
The instructions worked in find the version of Adobe Reader I have; I found I have version 2015.010.20056, but I am not sure how this relates to the 10.3.1 that the instructions say. I thought that I had downloaded the most recent version but does the 010.20056 means I only have version 10.2 and need to down load a newer version to get duplex printing?
Sorry, I guess I have been working on this too long I meant that I have been told I need to have 10.1.3, not 10.3.1. But still nothing is working and the instructions about duplex printing do not help to turn on my duplex printing.
If you're on a Mac, About Acrobat Reader is not on the Help menu but on the app menu (the first one after the apple, with the name of the app). This should be the same for all apps, so it's easy to find once you know how.
2015.010.20056 is still pretty old (but much less old than 10.2). It came out almost 2 years ago. I suggest you check for updates, which you can do via Help > Check for Updates. This is supposed to be automatic, so it might tell you about a problem. Please let us know where you get to.
I did what you suggested, went to help and clicked on "check for up dates." It said that my Adobe Acrobat Reader is up to date. What do I now? What is wrong? You say I have an old version and it says I am up to date?
Among these two, the first keys value shows as 8.0 and the latter shows as 9.0. I guess the first one is the correct place to look but it shows as 8.0.
by the way, i have installed it on a fresh clean machine. So is it a bug from Adobe Acrobat ? or is it correct for Adobe Acrobat ( may be in some way).
Yes, we are doing it in a separate application. While invoking our main application we query if there is any Adobe Acrobat installed in the machine, if so we query the version for our usage. If it doesnt matches our requirement we exit our main application with an erro message to have the required version to be installed.
But figuring out something small as the version from the registry takes me to iterate through a set of registry path is a cumbersome but i had to live with it as adobe doesnt provide me with any other choice.
But it should be as simple as a key in the registry to query to get the values for something like a version. But the keys which i mentioned in the first mail has the info but i guess because of the BUG (i presume to be so) i cannot rely on it.
Where X is the major version (i.e. 7, 8, 9). There may be more than 1 major version tree used for compatibility with add-on and legacy applications (even if you installed on a clean machine - this is not a bug it is intended behaviour) but only the currently installed version will have sub-keys under the Installer key.
We are using it to query the version of the installed Adobe Acrobat in the machine in which our application is installed. If it doesnt matches our criteria, we ask the user to have the correct version to be installed.
We queried the OLE interface for the Acrobat Version because at a time you are suppose to have one installation of the Adobe Acrobat. And morevoer the OLE reg path is giving the 'Acrobat Version'. For AA8.X both the OLE registry keys were having the same version number i.e 8.0.
Yes, i guessed that the reason for multiple versions under the [HKLM\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\X.0\Installer] may be for some backward compatibility. Anycase, i have already gone with the HKLM...\X.0\Installer path way.
Has anyone run into any issues with version 22.003.20258 of Adobe Acrobat DC? Prior to the update, our automation interacted with the pdf form smoothly (click, type into, etc.). However, now UiPath refuses to identify the different elements. Rather, the pdf document is recognized as a whole.
Always search first. It is the best way to quickly find your answer. Check out the icon for that.
Clicking the options button will let you set more specific topic search filters, i.e. only the ones with a solution.
Hopefully this will let you easily find the solution/information you need. Once you have it, we would be happy if you could share your findings here and mark it as a solution. This will help other users find it in the future.
If you were still not able to resolve the issue, Could you maybe check the below blog :
I am having this same problem. I am experiencing issues interacting with adobe even with the security checkboxes unchecked, even after restarting both uipath, adobe, and my machine multiple times. Any update from UIpath on this?
For example, I have installed Acrobat X pro in some machines, also I have installed Adobe Creative suite 6 in some machines, in this creative suite 6 package default acrobat x added, (Photoshop, illustrator, in-design, Acrobat X - all in adobe creative suite 6 package)
If you look at the example analyses I linked to that are on BigFix.Me, it is possible to see what the serial number data looks like on each machine that has Acrobat installed. Those installed using Creative Suite should have different looking serialization data than those installed by themselves independently, assuming different serial numbers were used. Even if the same serial numbers were used, it may still be possible to differentiate them based upon the info in the serialization DB.
I had to replace my motherboard and I need to re-install the OS. I have registered Acrobat 8 Pro and it was activated, but since a recent update the deactivate button is greyed out. I have tried the repair function and tried to re-register but it...
I am having the same issue with Adobe Acrobat 9. I have confirmed my serial number is not a volume license version. I have left the program open for about an hour now and the deactivate remains greyed-out.
When i log into my adobe account and request support, im told my account doesnt qualify for support anymore and if i called i would be charged 40$, so this sucks. I am unable to deactivate and re-activate on a different machine, unless im doing something wrong, does anyone know anything? I greatly appreciate it.
Thanks, this worked for me. I was originally opening it, running as administrator, etc. but would always close it after a few mins. I left it open for 20 mins and came back and Deactivate was no longer grayed out, and I was able to deactivate just fine.
Also, when trying to reinstall on a 64 bit server 2008 r2 vm I came across a problem where the install was looking for a AdobePDF.dll for 64 bit but you will have to manually extract that file from the Data1.cab and put in the designated install dir. Read here for more details from Adobe Adobe Creative Suite archive
My Outlook was updated to the newest version a few days ago and I'm having issues with opening PDF attachments in my default PDF viewer. Before, you could click the attachment in the email and get a preview but if you were to fully open the attachment it would open in my default application.
6. Update PDF Viewer Software: Ensure that your default PDF viewer software is up to date. Visit the official website of the software (e.g., Adobe Acrobat, Foxit Reader) to download and install any available updates.
7. Check for Outlook Updates: Make sure that your Outlook application is fully up to date. Check for and install any available updates by going to "File" > "Office Account" > "Update Options" > "Update Now".
8. Temporarily Disable Antivirus/Firewall: Sometimes, antivirus or firewall software can interfere with file attachments. Temporarily disable any third-party antivirus or firewall software and check if the issue persists.
@DeeReinhardt I am having the same issue. Its a bad change to how outlook works. I will go back to the old Outlook. The way the new outlook handles attachments adds extra steps into a process that was working just fine before.
@Colette1122 Best i can think of in terms of keeping workflow as simple as is to go for print option, then from print preview you can actually save attachement in the old way. via Edge, with pdf opening after saving. Still adds couple more clicks to each pdf, but it's better than having to go in the folder.
@DeeReinhardt when noting this problem via Feedback to Microsoft (New Outlook/Help/Feedback), they acknowledged that it is a feature that PDFs do not open in third-party app. hope for a fix in a future version.
@drkp89_rti Why are so many of the functions that existed in the old outlook not present in this supposedly new and better version. I understand that the new outlook will be the only option moving forward in the near future. without all these items addressed, how does that make sense. Please fix this as I use PDF files often and will need to have the ability to open them directly into adobe and not some pre prescribed pdf viewer from Microsoft. Please let me know if you get this resolved.
@DeeReinhardt - Same issue here. Opening PDF dirctly from the default viewer on Old Outlook works on same PC, New Outlook does not. Tried the repair option and setting default PDF, but that didn't fix it. Considering a Reset next then full uninstall and reinstall. Probably another dumb oversight like removing the link preview when hovering over a link in an email. Why they are removing some of these features is beyond me.
