Is it just me or is it a little disappointing that the EQ settings don't have definitive values attached to them and have to rely on sight when copying others' settings? It'd be nice to be able to export the EQ settings for others to use, too. Take the guesswork out of the equation, y'know?
So today I purchased a pair of Corsair Virtuoso RGB wireless headphones after going through a number of reviews as I needed a new headset for gaming. Previously, I used and old Razer headset until I bought a pair of Audiotechnica ATH-M50X audiophile headphones and they blew me away with their quality and clarity of sound, especially the lower tones. But I needed a headset with a mic so I go the Virtuoso and when I first set them up, I obviously wanted to check out the sound quality and my god it was terrible...
I tried quite a few of the settings posted on here but they didn't quite hit the right tone (no pun intended) for me. So I played around with the settings for a bit, going back and forth from the ATH-50X to the Virtuoso and tried to get as near the quality and clarity as I could and I found a setting I was pretty happy with which I have attached for your use.
I currently bought the HS80 but not able to hear footsteps as clear. What settings do you all recommend? I do see some setting pictures on here but needed specific numbers to go along with. Thank you all in advance!
The main complaint with the HS80 default sound is the emphasis on 120-300Hz which makes it sound a bit boomy and it overwhelms the sub-bass below 100Hz. Compensating that and adding a slight 3dB boost to the 2-5kHz area clears things up.
So i noticed that the 7.1 Sorround setting was terrible on my Coirsair Void Elite compared to Stereo for some reason..
Fiddling a bit and i finally got a setting that works great with almost anything in my opnion.
Hardstyle, Metal, RnB, even for gaming it makes a great experience :)
corsair hs 70 pro gaming wireless, my best sound settings. all games and music sound very good. This setting is also great in competitive games. nice pure force full bass everything you need. for me, give it a try
But somehow I was missing something with each setting of you. Nothing against your taste, all ears are different but I missed the clatter and the crunch when smashing the enemies in Elden Ring. So I tinkered around a bit and that's how this setting came together.
Maybe it's a pure Elden Ring setting and somewhere else it doesn't sound good, but since I don't play anything else for now anyway, I'm very happy with it :D
A big thank you to all your posts, otherwise I wouldn't have even begun to find the right settings for my ears.
I would recommend with you this guide about supported Home theater audio format. I would also like to recommend connecting the Sonos Arc directly to the TV as well as your Xbox so that all audio from the TV can be captured by the Sonos System. I would also be morethan happy to send this to our engineering team as a feature request for the DTS audio format support. Just to set your expectation, I would recommend subscribing to this topic as well as our announcement thread to be updated about any feature release and updates.
I did this and when I go to bitstream out on Xbox one x and select Dolby Atmos it says receiver does not support this. Am I doing something wrong? I have a Sony x930e and have the sonos arc going directly to the tv hdmi(ARC) and the Xbox is going to a high bandwidth hdmi port. Any suggestions?
I would like to try and check if we can connect the Sonos Arc to the eARC port on the TV if it is available as this is the only connection capable of transporting Atmos codec. You can also try to check if there are updates available for the TV and see if it would also help.
For DTS discs in your Xbox, you have to let the xbox encode the sound before passing it. In the Settings menu, go to Blu Ray settings, then change the audio. Unfortunately you have to change it back to bitstream to re-enable Atmos to be passed through natively.
For Dolby Atmos you must have a TV with an eArc HDMI port, AKA HDMI 2.1. The only TV's that seem to have them are the relatively new LG OLED and some Sony QLED sets among others. They're about 1k right now which i can't justify (to my wife) as I've got a half decent 4k TV already.
Hey all, ive recently been watching some videos of people playing tarkov, and they always seem to know where people are via sound, i have a corsair HS40 usb 7.1 headset, which has its own software that can make it into 7.1 "but it has a static hiss when it is turned on", it has equalizer things that can be tweaked for the best sound and im wondering if anyone can help me work out the best? Two pictures included, the first one "FPS gaming" setup produces a hiss which is there all the time the second one doesnt.
Ive included a link to the headset i have if it helps at all.
Ive seen people mention razer surround but havent a clue if it will help at all.

Tarkov delivers audio in stereo, so (currently) the best way to experience the game is in stereo. Don't worry about all these fancy sound settings mate because it's all shiny BS slapped on the box to make you buy products; the less you change in the sound settings, the more accurate to the dev's intentions you will be.
I'd recommend some quality open-back headphones. Avoid headsets. Depending on your budget, the Audio Technica ATH-AD500x, ATH-AD700x, ATH-AD900x, and ATH-AD1000x are all quality choices. They are all available on Amazon. These plug into your computer with a 1/4th in. plug which can be unscrewed to reveal a 3.5mm standard headphone sized plug underneath. This should solve your hiss problems but if it doesn't then all you need to do is purchase a DAC + AMP combo device. This device will sit outside your computer case which isolates it from any internal computer noise and signals. They plug into your computer via USB, and your headset will plug into the DAC + AMP with the full size 1/4 in. plug. An example of a quality DAC + AMP combo to use for gaming would be something like the Fulla by Schiit.
my only problem with the sound is i will hear gunshots, go towards them.....and nobody is around.....heard gun shots right in front of me went around object and nobody there.... really gets old, happens every round... then cannot hear anyone coming towards me until its too late... I have a good sound card, good headphones, and good speakers...
Heyo guys, i was around about going to pickup the ATH-AD700x when i noticed one key thing, it doesnt have a microphone. And most mics cost upward of 30 which puts it outside of my budget. Is there any great quality headsets with mics? that should work without an amp.
@dreadbeard1 To be fair, any cheap USB audio interface will power headphones just fine if you're mindful about funds, and the difference in sound quality will be negligible for gaming purposes at least (unless there is a serious fault in the hardware, in which case it's faulty)
Although this will mean also buying a standalone mic (this is the best option for both in and out audio quality), though IIRC there are some clip-on headset-style mics that are relatively good too which might be more budget friendly
Yep my cheap stereo logitech headset delivered better sound than the 7.1 headset i use now by far. Better in a sense of locating sounds and hear steps. Of course the expensiv 7.1 delivers better Sound for Videos and Music.
don't beat yourself up over ONE game. No other game has this problem that I know of. It is ONLY Tarkov that sucks in the area. Don't go hog wild spending money and what not trying to fix it for this ONE game.
Well, it isn't really just for one game, I play games like the Hunter where hearing animals steps can be quite important, and other PvP games I play, most just tarkov though, but what I did was recheck my budget, I picked up the ad 500x headphones with a fiio Olympus dac and a Modmic to attach for comms, so hopefully I'll enjoy better sound then my current headphones for most games I play, which will be nice. Hope that works out well!
