Dear all,

at the end of 2013 I've sent emails to every countries national society, or residents societies, based on our previous contacts and those available in the EFORT website.

I've reached the following 41 countries:

Albania, Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia Herzgovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Macedonia, Malta, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia,Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, UK.

The ones that I've had a response were 7:

- Cyprus, Italy, Macedonia, Malta, Norway, Portugal and Turkey.

I know we'll probably have an easy access to Greece (Nick), Netherlands (Bram), and UK (Peter).

Does anyone have contacts of the remaining 34 countries? The ones that we don't have reply, I was thinking to ask for EFORT's help.

ALSO:

I'm going to ask our contacts to promote the questionnaire, for residents to reply until wednesday (so we can prepare the data to present in UEMS the next weekend).

Is this link still good to promote? http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/JXWX52D

Who will have access to data after?

Happy Easter to you all! Pleasy reply today or tomorrow the latest!

Best regards,

Vide

Hi Nick,

no, the greek contacts that I had were from Dr. Triantis Petros and Alexandros Apoustolopoulos. If you can send me the contact of Dr. Anagnostakos I would appreciate it.
I already tried some of the national societies.. in fact, most of them! But I'll try again. Next step I think it's asking for EFORT's help, if you agree.
By wednesday/Thursday I'll email you so we can gather the responses and make some sense out of it.

All the best to you all,
Vide

Hi Vide,

Very good work indeed!
I have the contact details of the greek residents, I think I gave them to you. The president is Dr Anagnostakos. Write to him and please cc me, so I can follow up with him.

At this point, I guess, we may need to ask the national societies. I don’t know what the rest committee thinks.
For the survey, this is the correct survey. I will help as well, by sending the survey via a program at the university that can send multiple emails.
I am planning to do this on Monday morning.
For the data, I have access, and I can help you with the analysis as well.
Please let me know if you need any additional help

Happy Easter to all!

Nick

Dear all

This will always be an ongoing problem and seems to me that we waste a lot of energy finding a link person and the relationship depends on whether that link person is enthusiastic or not!

Recently i proposed a change to this which would hopefully make it much easier to keep an up to date database.  I suggest that we contact the EFORT representative from each national society and propose that the president of the residents national association is automatically made a FORTE board member.  Arrange two large FORTE committee meetings per year.  One at EFORT Congress and one in January.  Ask each national association that they fund the FORTE representative travel and accommodation costs for this meeting in Jan.

This will serve two purposes, one to make it easier having access to a link person.  Secondly, putting the pressure on the national association to keep the residents involved.  Several of them at UEMS meetings tell me that they don’t know which residents are involved with FORTE and i think this would help.

What do you think Nick?
