Hi Gazi!Very good! I will reply below your text:
1.There’s 3 issues until the end of the year of Orthopaedocs Today Europe:· SEPTEMBER: The deadline to provide me with text(s) and visual(s) is the 11 August by the end of the day.· OCTOBER: 7 September by the end of the day.· NOVEMBER/DECEMBER: 28 October by the end of the day.Kindly note that articles should be between 0.5 and 2.5 A4 page, with a main title. All pictures & images used should be in high definition, which means 300 dpi. If you have any doubt, feel free to submit it to me in advance. We can include 4 topics but to be honest it is impossible to put all 4 in every issue thus we have no enough space for all. We have to pick up 2 from the topics below
a - FORTE newsb - Expert space (invited article, etc)c - Resident space (talking about/comparing different countries training programs is a MUST DO. Thank you very much Francisco)d - Press space (last important studies/events)FORTE news should be written by the President and the others will up to us.So I could arrange an expert space for September about “Achilles tendon ruptures the future perspective” .And who would like to be in charge for October ? and Nov?Dec? (PLEASE INDICATE YOUR NAME - THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT - THEY ASKED US TO SEND OUR PUBLICATION PLAN SOON)
Gazi, I agree with you. It's not possible to have all 4 topics in every issue (that's what I've said). What I meant was that all this 4 are valid topics. For instance: In September's issue we can put FORTE's news (I agree with the President as the formal speaker) and an expert space (I've already done an article of a summary of Dr. Villar's presentation in FORTE session in Istambul, if you want to use it). But in October's issue, maybe we don't have any FORTE's news, so we could publish a certain country training program specificities and a summary of recent evidence and important events! I think we should always consider (at least) all this 4 topics as possible publication themes...
NP: I agree. it is reasonable not to have space in every issue. I also agree to start with the presidential letter and expert view. Since Gazi you will be in charge with September issue, then do the FORTE news and the Achilles tendon article for this issue. Then I could do November, and we can have Dr Vilar’s talk (since it is quite old already) and a study update/event. And then for the November we can have again a letter/news article and a study/event update or a country trainee update.
2. I will submit our application for AAOS booth and lets see what will happen. Theonly thing that I need is FORTE official mailing address (SHIRLEY PLEASE PROVIDE ME THE OFFICIAL ADRESS THAT WE USED IN BANK ACCOUNT? - THIS IS URGENT)
Gazi, Shirley and I haven't still made the transfer of treasure to me, but this is basically my fault, because I'm waiting for EFORT to reply to our request for support...
NP: Gazi, I believe that you could send the application with your address in. I do not know if it would be better to have the EFORT address (so as to have something permanent), but I do not know if you can wait (is there a deadline?)
3. For the national representative request letter, I believe it is more formal and effective way to proceed through EFORT. Because our goal is to reach as much country as possible and EFORT has 42 members (we don’t have such) . And we also don’t have a regular database at least for now. So as Enis suggested before we can ask EFORT to send that letter on behalf of FORTE and ask the national associations to send their resident representative to FORTE general assembly. In addition after my negotiation with head office, EFORT is about accept to organize out general assembly during EFORT ExCOm meeting in February (this is a good chance and it is a good opportunity to show how serious we are). They just want to know the duration, number of participants and set up. So I believe next EFORT in Prague is too far.Joao could you please send the final version if the letter regarding to all suggestion? Than I will send it to EFORT head office.Who want to be in charge to prepare the rough programme?
Gazi, we have around 11 countries with updated representation. I attach the current database. The other that haven't replied yet, will probably be impossible to gather unless we use an official channel like EFORT. So I agree we should send the letter (I also will attach the last version of it)
NP: I am still confused. Let me see if I have these right. We have 11 (only) active member-countries from the Residents. So there is no point to try to send them a letter, correct? Therefore, the idea is to ask the National Societies (via EFORT) for their help (to provide information for their resident association). I agree with this plan to ask the National societies via EFORT. If we do it on our own, then probably we do not have a chance to get any proper reply!!
4. Even it is not a miracle, I will send InsightOrtho and ask them to send us a rough contract and lets see what they could provide us for free..then discuss again
NP: Ok, cool!! Contract for what?ok, great!
5. FORTE website is already done but they ask us for mailing address? (SHIRLEY PLEASE)
As I've said, this is still "blocked". Maybe we should move forward with the old one, and then update it when time comes
NP: What do you mean it is blocked? If we go with the old one, we need to update it. Some information needs to be updated (for example the executive committee)
6. How about the Springer books? (NICK PLEASE WE NEED UPDATE)
3. Shoulder (Ed:Gazi)2. General Trauma (Ed: Enis)
I agree Nick with the internal structure, that looks fine and the deadlines are reasonable (If you agree guys, Nick could you please kick off with Springer about that plan?)
Hi all,Apologies for the delayed reply, but I am attending a conference in Boston as an invited key speaker and it is quite busy week for me..Please find my replies below:On Jul 7, 2014, at 4:55 PM, Joao Vide <joao...@gmail.com> wrote:NP: I agree. it is reasonable not to have space in every issue.
