Ihad been searching for these items for quite a while and only by chance came across this site. I wasnt sure where to start looking. I phone and spoke to a very polite chap who helped me enormously. I placed my order and within 2 days my order had arrived. Well done all involved. I will recommend this company, thank you

The suppliers of our fitted bedroom dont carry spares for the drawer front fixings that they used. Without Solmars help, I think we would have been in real trouble. Thanks, Solmar! Great product, good price, quick service.

What can I say but excellent all round from the moment I chose them to the delivery. So easy to order them and they came in a couple of days. First class service. Without a shadow of a doubt I will order from this company again. Well done.

The drawer fixing was actually for a bedroom draw, probably as a result of the bedroom being fitted by a firm that specialized in kitchens.

However, the item was order online on a Thursday evening. Early Friday morning I received an email saying the item was awaiting despatch and it arrived Tuesday morning, Monday was a bank holiday,so no post.

The fixing was exactly what I need to repair the broken draw and everything was fixed in under 5 minutes.

Hi - I have some old crappy draws in the kitchen and the face pulled off one the other day. The face of the draw is fine but the interior is cheap plastic. I can fix it with some right angle brackets x 4 but I am wondering if there is a kit drawer or something that I can replace the entire draw with and screw the old face onto?

Looking at the photo you posted, it seems that it is a full plastic assembly. I would recommend removing the plastic drawer front clips, but it seems to be very brittle and further stress might crack it further. I suggest gluing the drawer front back onto the assembly using Selleys Liquid Nails 80g Clear Construction Adhesive. I recommend using a Grunt 25mm x 2m Pull Tie Down Strap or similar to keep the drawer front in place until the glue cures. Once the glue is dry you can take the strap off and test the drawer.

If you wish to use angle brackets, I suggest the Carinya 38 x 38 x 20 x 2mm Zinc Plated Angle Bracket - 4 Pack. However, I would drill pilot holes on the side of the drawer to prevent it from cracking the plastic. I recommend considering the Kia Ora 120 x 400 x 450mm Vinyl Wrap Drawer as a possible drawer replacement. Please make sure to bring the old drawer to compare size and length to make sure it fits.

There's a number of fixes a kitchen drawer can require, but most homeowners will be able to take on these repairs, which can save you spending money on a handyperson and help you to once again fully appreciate your kitchen design.

The small metal brackets that fix the drawer front (wooden) to the

drawer body (metal) have broken on a kitchen drawer. The bracket

consists of a plate with 2 holes to fit to then drawer front and a

piece at 90deg with a cam and screw hole. The latter fit into a slot

in the drawer side. The brackets are labelled Blum ZSF.150-02 (L&R), but I can't find any

similar brackets in the local BMs. The kitchen is fairly old (15

years) but I don't want to replace the kitchen over one unit!Help appreciated.

M.

HI Mark,

try sell blum kitchen fittings and when I was looking for

out of date replacement drawer runners they put me through to someone at

blums who found some old runners and sent them to me free of charge!I'm sorry but I didn't keep the number but they (blums)were very helpful

and the guys at isaac lord were very knowkegable and helpful too.dedics

Try to locate a suitable part. If you do find the part you need, you

might be able to get it from a Blum retailer. (I use

or the shop itself.)--

onset.

Although common it frequently goes undiagnosed.

Anyone have any experience with these brackets? I have about 8 which have broken because they are made of die cast cheese metal. Went to mastercraft kitchens where the drawers are from and they said the part is no longer available (of-course it isn't), they can supply me with a new part but it has a different fitting (of-course it does) which means I have to replace the whole side panel of the drawer as well (intentional?), cant remember exact figures but this ends up costing somewhere around $80 + gst per drawer if I do the work myself.

I don't feel like spending nearly half a grand just to fix some stupid brackets, anyone had this problem before, any ideas, or sources of cheap replacement brackets? I have seen generic brackets on ebay but profile looks different. Photo above is not the exact bracket, just generic image so you know what I am talking about

Hafele sell all these types of kitchen parts, as do Blum, although I am not sure if they sell retail, and you may have to go through a kitchen manufactuer. Also you may find a kitchen store on trademe that may help.

If the front was in bad shape, the top was worse. It was all scratched up, and the finish was coming off in places. Most of the corners around the base were nicked or worn off. The drawers were just raw wood, and they were coming apart in a few places.

After a quick coat of primer, I tried a new kind of paint, Benjamin Moore ADVANCE Interior Waterborne Alkyd Paint in Satin. The promise is that it goes on as evenly as, and finishes as hard as, an oil-based paint. This is what we are currently considering for re-painting our kitchen cabinets and I wanted to get some experience with the product before I committed to that sort of project. All the friction that will come with opening and closing these drawers should be a good stress test!

After letting that soak in for about 30 minutes, I rubbed on a layer of the Feed-N-Wax. After letting that sit for another 30 minutes, I came back around with a fresh rag to buff the wax on all the surfaces.

The drawer fronts still show some imperfections but where it made the biggest difference was on the body and legs. Maybe because the worst of the damage was on corners, where it is easiest to saturate in the product, and where remaining imperfections are less noticeable.

So which did I actually chose? Um, #1 obviously. While a bigger piece of furniture, or a piece painted all white, would have thrived with one of the bolder or more detailed options, Sage and I decided a very simple shape would look good with the dark wood. The decision was only made easier by the fact that these cost $1.78 each and had a free shipping deal going.

The paint is holding up really well. After plenty of time curing in our very dry winter air, I loaded up the drawers and have been using them frequently. There are no marks or scratches in the finish. Like at all. So far so good on testing this paint for the eventual kitchen re-do!

This was a pretty subtle makeover without the truly shocking before-and-after that we all know and love. But it makes a huge difference in my enjoyment of having this little piece of furniture hanging around the house!

Thank you! I expect it would be good for the chest! And you an always test it on a hard to see spot first. Although I have never tried it out on water rings, I think it is supposed to be able to treat them. There are also several (maybe 5?) different tones of the Restore-A-Finish for different shades of wood. The one I used was Walnut, but there are lighter shades that might work better for you. Let me know if you try it!

I LIKE YOUR DRESSER. YOU GOT A GREAT DEAL. FOR MYSELF I WOULD HAVE LEFT THE TWO DRAWERS IN,

TACT AND PUT HINGES ON THE FRONTS OF THE DRAWERS TO COVER THE VCR AND THE CABLE BOX SO

THAT THE DRESSER COULD BE USED IN ANOTHER ROOM IN THE FUTURE. AS FOR THE CORDS ON THE

BACK I WOULD LOOK FOR CORD COVERS SO THERE WOULD NOT BE SUCH A TANGLED MESS.
