Hello all;
Well, the conference is just a week and a day away. We know that the 800 people coming through the doors of the hotel are going to be greeted by someone to make them feel at home.
WE ALSO KNOW that on the first day, there will be some confusion regarding rooms and layout. We have sent multiple emails to the local committee and have had one person sign up to be a "TRAIL BOSS." Many of you have come to the meetings, toured the hotel (some even more than once) and have seemed "on board" with the plans.
So, we are at a loss....can you please write in and let us know what is keeping you from signing up so we can brainstorm a way to 'get around' whatever is holding all ya'll back from making a 1/2 hour commitment to moving people easily through the hotel on their first day. ANY input would be GREATLY appreciated. As I said, we need help making this happen. In case there is confusion on the "job description", please read the straight forward version below.
Trail Boss Volunteers
Thank you for being a Trail Boss and sacrificing your time to help the conference goers get to their workshops on time. Since we are looking at a possible 800+ attendees(!!!), getting people to the workshops on time is not only important, it can make the difference in whether or not they get there before the rooms fill up! You are playing a vital role in helping this conference run smoothly. These shifts are only 30 minutes each. You can still attend workshops! If you are going to be in a workshop before your Trail Time, I recommend sitting in the back so you can "sneak out" early. If you want to attend a workshop after your Trail Time, you can "sneak in" afterward. You will need to be at your station on time. Make sure you wear
your hat and bandanna (and name tag)! These are important identifiers that help you stand out in the crowd.
Please be at your designated location, either the base of the stairs or the upstairs bridge for your entire shift. It may be tempting to walk someone to their location, but there are many more who still need guidance. We want to keep the traffic flowing as smoothly as possible. If someone wants to ask other questions, about the auction, or just chat, please direct them to the NSA store, someone with an "ask me" tag, or have them find you after your shift to catch up! Don't hesitate to call me with any questions 214-564-8653 or my husband Kevin 972-898-5761. We will
have a brief meeting Tuesday evening, and can have another one Wednesday for those arriving then.
Thank You Again!
