Position: Web Multimedia Artist
Pay rate range: $45-50/hr.
Duration: 6 plus months
Start Date: by Mid October
Location: San Francisco
Preference: local candidates preferred.
Detailed description & Responsibilities:
Web Multimedia Artist
The Web Services Team is seeking a talented and creative professional Web multimedia artist with an eye for design. This individual will work closely with our Project Manager on production of designs of the main website and a wide range of agencies web sites including multimedia, graphics, layout, templates etc.
Requirement:
- 4+ years of hands-on expertise with multimedia technologies such as Flash with action script is required.
- 4+ years of professional experience in web design, graphic design and production.
- 4+ years of hands-on expertise with XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML is required.
- 4+ years of expertise in Photoshop or other graphic applications is required.
- Expert knowledge of using video in Flash environment.
- Working knowledge of server side programming language is a plus.
- Strong skills with Microsoft Office suite.
Qualifications:
- Must have a solid grasp of multimedia , graphic and web design including usability principles using current web & multimedia technologies
- Must be a creative thinker who can take an idea from conception to completion, while meeting team goals and deadlines
- Must possess strong design skills with a good eye for typography, layout and color including screen layout and information design
- Pay strong attention to details in design and quick response to requests is a must
- Ability to work independently without supervision as well as in a team
- Must possess excellent communication skills
- College degree in Multimedia, Graphics or Web design programs is preferred
Portfolio Requirements:
- This individual's experience and portfolio must reflect his/her ability to produce great design with concept that leverages current web multimedia technologies. Great portfolio showing a variety of project work, different design styles and clear understanding of typography is required.
- The candidate must have Online Portfolio to be considered
Duties:
- Design, develop and implement production quality web designs with multimedia applications including graphics, layout, templates etc for the main website and a wide range of other City agencies websites.
- Create and maintain a multimedia center/portal for all multimedia applications.
- Meet with clients to clarify requirements and discuss solutions; analyze the feasibility of solutions within the templates.
- Design and develop multimedia solutions and integrate with the websites.
