Anelderly man listens to the radio broadcast warning about the missile launch. He rushes outside, urging people to seek cover in the subway. Eventually the Civil Defence "ATOM" signal can be heard and the chaos on the streets ensues. Not everyone is lucky enough to get to the shelter in time, though.
As their time runs out, the station commander orders to lock the doors and fires a warning shot in the air. After a change of heart, however, a child is taken by the commander from his mother. The airlocks are sealed and the movie flash forwards twenty years, showing an armed man walking up the escalators to the surface and ends with a panorama of the ruined city.
A countdown made its appearance on the 14th of May at a website named "Enter the Metro", hinting at a live action short film. While very little information would surface on the film until its release on the 24th of May, several promotional materials appeared in the weeks beforehand. On the 16th, 18th, 22nd, and 23 May several preview screencaps were posted on the official Facebook page and on the 21st a teaser trailer was uploaded on the official YouTube channel.
In late March, pro-life activists from the Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising (PAAU) discovered evidence of potential illegal late-term abortions and infanticide taking place at Washington Surgi-Center in Washington, D.C., the business of abortionist Cesare Santangelo. After recovering over 100 preborn children, including five who were victims of late-term abortions, the majority of the bodies were given a respectful burial and funeral Mass.
The rest were taken by the Metropolitan Police Department, ostensibly for investigation purposes, on March 30. But after more than 40 days have passed, it seems no action taken to investigate the deaths of these five children, some of whom appear to have been victims of illegal late-term abortions.
There, with a Catholic deacon present, Bukovinac and Handy say they opened the boxes, finding the bodies of the babies inside. All of the children were given names; one, named Harriet, was an intact baby girl who showed signs of being the victim of an illegal partial-birth abortion. Other intact children showed signs of possibly being the victims of infanticide. While speaking to a Live Action undercover investigator, Santangelo said his preferred late-term abortion method was to cut the umbilical cord and wait for the child to die by cardiac arrest.
The question remains: is the Metropolitan Police Department going to take action to ensure justice for these five children? Or is abortion so politically powerful that even the crime of potential illegal abortions and infanticide can be covered up?

The Metro Survivors are three characters from the Metro Live Action Short: the Preacher, the Model, and the Commander. Each is given their own video that expounds upon their own unique story before and after the war.
The Preacher was initially shown as a crazed religious fanatic in the live action short. His survivor story expands upon this, displaying his vast authority in the metro as a religious figure. He is likened to a shepherd, leading a flock of sheep who are desperate for hope. He appears power-crazed, and rightfully so. Metro citizens seem to worship him, overcome by silence when he appears in public to preach.
Before the blast, he was a well-known feature of the Moscow streets preaching at the top of his voice at all hours of the day, but now, after a period of soul-searching, he has become a beacon of hope and spiritual advisor to the hopeless denizens of the Metro.
As compared to the Preacher, the Model paints a vastly bleaker picture of survival. Stripped of her pre-war glory, the Model is treated like scum in the metro. Hardly living by selling her body, her destitution and vagrancy only serve to highlight her once bright past and now dark future.
From a career carved out as a spoiled model and socialite (increasingly the latter), she was plunged into a world of darkness, where celebrity means less than nothing. In order to survive she started out selling her body, but now she makes armor for rangers, a proud and fiercely independent woman.
Yet again, the Commander's survivor story is in stark contrast to the Preacher's, with the Commander being greatly respected pre-armageddon, and treated miserably post-war. He shows remorse for closing the door on hundreds of people, but it seems the citizens of the metro have a strong hatred for him. The Commander is shown being beaten, and particular attention should be paid to a segment where his Medal "For Impeccable Service" (First Class)[1]is stripped off his uniform.

Diversity refers to race, ethnicity, gender, age, religion, nationality, language preference, socioeconomic status, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity and other aspects of individual identity. Making a commitment to respect the talents and differences of each employee supports the success of the organization and helps make Metro a great place to work.
The plan helps Metro identify ways to value diversity and demonstrate cultural competence in carrying out its mission. A living document that is subject to regular review and revisions, the plan identifies goals, strategies and actions in four areas:
The plan was developed by an interdisciplinary team of Metro staff, and is based on organizational needs and feedback from employees and community groups. It was adopted by the Metro Council on Nov. 15, 2012.
More than 50 staff members from across Metro serve on teams charged with reviewing, developing and helping to implement strategies in the plan. An advisory council helps identify, address and remove barriers.
Guided by input from many regional partners and informed by research, Metro has identified racial equity as the approach to ensure that all people who live, work and recreate in the Portland region have the opportunity to share in and help define a thriving, livable and prosperous place.
Metro awards millions of dollars in contracts for products and services each year and actively solicits bids and proposals from businesses that are certified by the State of Oregon's Certification Office for Business Inclusion and Diversity (COBID).
After sharing an overview of progress made over the year, the Metro CERT staff warmed up the audience with live polling so everyone could get to know each other a little better. The live polling was especially helpful given that most people were attending their first Metro CERT annual event.
We were fortunate enough to have Amy Sparks from A Visual Spark and her incredible talent in live graphic note taking capture the event again this year. Thanks to Amy, you can get a visual overview of the event through her masterpiece below!
This year, attendees were given clean energy action postcards containing an individual and community-level goal related to each of the five lightning talks. Clean energy actions included test driving an electric vehicle, scheduling a Home Energy Squad assessment, engaging a new community for a solar bulk buy, and more! Attendees broke into small groups to discuss which energy actions they would commit to and filled out their postcards with their pledge selections. The postcards will be sent out in mid-January by Metro CERT staff to remind participants of the clean energy actions they committed to.
About Metro CERT: The Metro Clean Energy Resource Team (Metro CERT) is coordinated by the Great Plains Institute, a statewide partner of the Clean Energy Resource Teams (CERTS), and serves the 11-county Twin Cities metropolitan area by empowering communities and their members to adopt energy conservation, energy efficiency, and renewable energy technologies and practices for their homes, businesses, and local institutions.
