Salaam Alaikum Salahuddin,  A few weeks ago, a man claiming to be Israeli, came to the Toronto Islamic Centre and assaulted worshippers and attempted to vandalize the Centre as well. The attacker hurled a large rock at a congregant, tried to smash through the windows, as well as kick and strike worshippers. While doing so, he called all Muslims “terrorists”, and said he was there to “finish the job”. This is not the first time that TIC has faced Islamophobia.  And we want to be clear: we will not be intimidated.This sec If anything, this strengthens our resolve on why the Toronto Islamic Centre is needed more than ever and which is why we set out to purchase the building we’re operating from. With the current situation in Palestine, fighting Islamophobia and dispelling misconceptions about Islam has never been more important! And this is exactly what Toronto Islamic Centre does every single day! Help Keep TIC Open URGENT APPEAL: WE HAVE UNTIL DECEMBER 29, 2023 TO SECURE THIS BUILDING PERMANENTLY! However, the current situation is dire. We’ve already raised 90% of the amount needed for the downpayment thanks to incredible people like you. But we need your help in securing the remaining 10%. And if we don't make this payment by DECEMBER 29, 2023, the landlord can cancel the contract and sell the building. Yes, this Masjid that is located on the longest and busiest street right in the heart of Toronto’s bustling downtown core will have to close it's doors. The same place where we fight Islamophobia and dispel misconceptions about Islam.  The place where we give multiple Shahadas on a weekly basis. This is the place where hundreds congregate for Salah, where people find refuge in Ramadan.  Where the homeless are fed.  Where new Muslims are taken care of. All this Khair will come to an end if we lose this building. Help Us Purchase This Building This is the final push. We have already raised 90%!
