Dedicated to Sultan al-Awliya Mawlana Shaykh Nazim al-Haqqani

Awliyaullah Prepare Us to Face Difficult Events

Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani

Awliyaullah are encouraging their followers to prepare now, so in a moment of panic or troubles they will be ready and move through it with safety due to their preparation. That is what Mawlana Shaykh and all Awliya mean when they speak about something that people don't understand. This description is enough. We should always be ready in our spiritual life, preparing between us and Allah ().

Mawlana Shaykh Nazim spoke of Armageddon, the great battle at the end of time. In reality, Armageddon is a fight against your ego! Fight your ego and Allah () will provide for you as He provided the Virgin Mary (ع); she fought the Armageddon against her ego, as are the ِAwliyaullah!

There are spiritual meanings behind every word Mawlana Shaykh spoke. People are panicking that there is going to be a big fight. Yes, there is a big fight: against your ego! Shaytan is everywhere, more in this time than in any other time. He is going to fight you and will try to destroy you! So you have to be prepared, by doing your prayers, your awrad, by helping people and doing charity. “Love your brother as you love for yourself,” as Prophet () said. Don't make conspiracies against others. Live your life without any hate. If you do all this you will be a saint, and what more do you want?

Mawlana Shaykh Nazim's Seclusion in Baghdad

“One day I had a vision that Sayyidina ‘Abdul Qadir Jilani was calling me to his grave and he was saying, ‘O my son I am waiting for you at my grave. Come!’ Immediately I took a shower, prayed two cycles of prayer and I walked to his grave which was only some few feet from my room. When I got there I began contemplating and I said, as-Salam ‘alayka ya jiddee (‘Peace be upon you O my grandfather’). Immediately I saw him come out of the grave and stand beside me. Behind him was a Great Throne decorated with rare stones. He said to me, ‘Come with me and sit with me on that throne.’

“We sat like a grandfather with his grandson. He was smiling and saying, ‘I am happy with you. The station of your Shaykh, ‘Abdullah al-Fa’iz ad-Daghestani is very high in the Naqshbandi Order. I am your grandfather and I am passing to you now, directly from me, the power that I carry as the Arch-Intercessor and I initiate you now directly into the Qadiri Order.’”

Each Side Wants to Eliminate the Other

Shaykh Nour Mohamad Kabbani

There was a Muslim king and his government had taken a decision and signed an executive order to expel all Jews, and that they had to leave their country.

As they were getting ready to pray one waliullah, a saint, came by and when they saw him, something effected their hearts and they asked him to lead the prayers. So he became their imam and began with the opening takbir and then he began reciting, "alhamdulillah rabbil-Muslimeen, all praise is for God, Lord of the Muslims." Everyone behind him corrected him saying "rabbil-`alameen, all praise is for God, Lord of the worlds." Everyone behind him said it. Rabbul-`alameen, Lord of the worlds, is what is in Surat al-Fatiha which is recited in prayer. So that saint kept reciting it that way and the king, the government and he cabinet all said, "no, no that is wrong, Allah (ﷻ) is Rabbul-`Alameen, the Lord, Cherisher and Provider of all the worlds." They are good at translating but that is about it. Despite their objections, he continued to say Rabbul-Muslimeen until the end of the prayer.

After the prayer finished they came to this Waliullah: "How do you say Rabbul-Muslimeen? He is Rabbul-Alameen, Lord of all creation." He said, "You acknowledge that He created the others and He has provided for the others and He has mercy and love for the others. Now mashallah, you are saying these ones don't belong--here get them out."

So today some Jews say "these Muslims don't belong here, get them out." Here in our country they say "these Mexicans don't belong here get them out." In Burma they say "get the Rohyingas out." In India they say, "Get the Sikhs out."

Allah (ﷻ) is teaching you ,O mankind! He is Lord of the East, Lord of the West and Lord of the Worlds. That is 'world' in plural not just the small dunya that you are so keen to rule over. Your world is nothing compared to the galaxy we are in. Our galaxy is nothing compared to the universe we are in. Sometimes I look at Google Earth and it is small ball and if you go out some distance it disappears.

So Allah (ﷻ) is Lord of the Christians, Lord of the Jews, Lord of atheists and Lord of the Muslims and He has taken on Himself to provide for anything that moves.

`Urs of Sayyidina `Abdul-Qadir al-Jilani ق

Commonly called Giyarwee Shareef, the passing of Sayyidina `Abdul-Qadir al-Jilani قدس سرّه is observed in many parts of the Muslim world as something of immense importance, especially in the Indian sub-continent, where the Shaykh is titled Ghaus e Azam Dastagir. The commemoration of his passing is primarily observed by the feeding the poor by respected Shuyukh of various Khanikas using the langar (holy food) gifting the reward to Sayyidina `Abdul-Qadir al-Jilani ق. As well observances include recitation of the Quran, Dhikrullah, organizing milads, processions accompanied by recitation, relating from the life of Shaykh Jilani and asking for Allah's blessings through du`a-munajat or tawassul (individual and collective).

Muhiyidin ibn `Arabi ق

Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani

Once Muhyiddin ibn `Arabi (ق) said to the people of Damascus, “What you worship is under my feet!” Muslims worship Allah (), so they understood his statement to mean, “Your god is under my feet!” They debated this case in court, judged him to be a heretic and sentenced him to death. They hanged him and threw his dead body in a dump without a proper burial, and they even threw garbage on him.

After three or four-hundred years, one pious king came to Damascus [the Ottoman Sultan Selim] and decided to find out why Ibn `Arabi said that. In those days people lived long lives, perhaps 125 years, so he looked for old people and questioned them about this incident. One old man said, “I heard from my father, who heard from his father, who heard from his father that Ibn `Arabi was buried in such-and-such location.” The king went with his army to that place and dug through many layers of compacted garbage. They found seven barrels of gold and then they found the body of Ibn `Arabi (ق), still fresh as if he was buried yesterday!

They built a mosque and maqaam for his honor and that is where he was buried. I have a picture I found underground in the original place that Sultan Selim buried him. After hundreds of years they finally discovered the real meaning of what he said: the people worship gold!

Saved by Truthfulness

A Story of Ghawth al-`Azham ق

Shaykh `Abdul-Qadir al-Jilani's father passed away while he was a young child so his mother, Umm al-Khayr looked after him. Before she sent him to distant lands to study the faith knowing that she might never see him ever again, she gave him 80 pieces of gold that his father left for him and she sewed it in his shirt pocket — and advised him, 'Never lie to anyone under any circumstance!'

While travelling at this tender age, a group of bandits approached him and mockingly asked this poor youth if he had anything. To their amazement he said that he had pieces of gold that his father left him before he passed away and they were sewn into his shirt. The chief of the thieves was amazed by his truthfulness and asked him why he was foolish enough to tell them about it. The young saint innocently replied that his mother told him to never lie to anyone. This had such a profound affect on the thief that he ended up making tawba and rectifying his life.

The Prophet ﷺ said that a believer may fall into certain sins but he can never be a liar. Umm al-Khayr was a mother who sacrificed her child for Islam and centuries later he is still guiding people — and she is being rewarded for everything.

The Maqaam of Sayyidina `Abdul-Qadir al-Jilani ق

Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani

So how do people claim they have reached the level of sainthood? It is not that easy! A rich person like Shaykh `Abdul Qadir al-Jilani ق, who came from a good family and learned everything about Shari`ah, left everything and went into the desert where there is nothing, to polish his ego and say to it, “This is your home where you are going to live, so you must submit!” In a desert, you submit solely to Allah (swt), because there you don’t know east, west, north or south.

فَأَيْنَمَا تُوَلُّواْ فَثَمَّ وَجْهُ اللّهِ

Wherever you direct your face, you see Allah's Oneness, the signs of His Creation. (Surat al-Baqara, 2: 115)

So he was carrying all those burdens and fighting with his desires. Do you fight with your desires? It is difficult, not easy. A mureed was in the middle of a qasidah yesterday as we were holding the Holy Hair of the Prophet (s), and something urgent happened, so he left everything behind and ran to the one whom he loves; in doing so he lost one of the biggest trusts that might have been given to him! How do you leave the Holy Hair of the Prophet and run? That was a test and we are heedless, but we must not be heedless in certain moments!

One time, Sayyidina Shaykh Sharafuddin ق was sitting with his mureeds in an association, and one of his best mureeds was sitting with him. Someone came and whispered in the ear of that mureed, and he immediately left the association and ran to his house, which was burning, and he couldn’t do anything. His wife and children were inside, but he could not save them as his whole house was on fire, so he ran to his shaykh, who looked at him and said, “In that meeting, I was going to give you your trust, but you messed it up. Do you think your shaykh is blind to what is taking place in your house? Go get your wife and children; you will see them outside.” The hand of the shaykh saved them!
