Sustainable Agriculture Workshop
October 29, 2010, 9:00 am to 2:30 pm
Hosted by Sussex County Community College, Newton, NJ
Atrium - Performing Arts & Health Science Bldg

Come enjoy local food, chat with the farmers, learn how to compost and other sustainable agriculture related festivities.

FEATURING KEYOTE: Mikey Azzara, whose Zone 7 business connects New Jersey's organic and sustainable farmers with restaurants and groceries who want to provide the highest quality local ingredients to their customers.  Azzara, formerly coordinator for the Northeast Organic Farming Association of NJ (NOFA-NJ), who also teaches school-garden classes at the Lawrenceville School and runs a local farmers' market, is uniquely qualified to serve as a lynchpin between growers and chefs.  Zone 7, which takes its name from the state's agricultural zone, is entering its third year of making weekly stops for hard-to-get, reliably fresh and delicious ingredients from growers and producers around New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania — and then delivering them to grateful chefs and grocery owners.

It hits you, your life has changed

Again and again

You learn your lesson

But something still remains."
