Assoon as I did this, creative cloud installed both Photoshop and Lightroom and recognised again that I had previous versions on my PC, and updated them. This meant my preferences and set-up remained.
I have already done everything following each instruction and the error continues, I even uninstalled my Creative Cloud, I changed the installation location in preferences and nothing. The problem continues I don't know what to do help
No, he meant a file with the name "caps". If you are on macOS, the library file is a hidden file and you have to show hidden files. There are also multiple library files. If you are still having trouble, contact Adobe Customer Care with the above instructions.
for me it was in the x86 Folder. Thanks for posting this, worked instantly after I deleted the caps folder. I have my adobe stuff not installed on C but on a different drive. No problems so far. Yet I had to lose this drive for reasons. After that Photoshop would not install anywhere.
Came here for the same issue. New version of Xcode was released. Git/version control, node, and several other developer dependencies all stopped working and throwing errors in my IDE and VS Code. Tried following the tips in this thread and a dozen others. What worked for me: I opened Xcode, and it pops a new dialog window to install macOS and iOS. After proceeding through this initialization, Developer Tools started working again.
Creative Cloud installed fine, but the update fails and the error code 505 pops up. This error code also appears when I attempt installing XD (the progress would get to somewhere around 60-70% before the error code pops up and installation stops).
Thanks for the detailed post, Justicus. Error 505 indicates that the installer is not being given proper permissions to complete the installation process. If you have already implemented the steps listed in -cloud/kb/troubleshoot-download-install-logs.html then I would recommend you create a new user account to see if it faces the same error.
It may also be that UWP installations are blocked on the computer. Only Adobe XD uses the Universal Windows Platform to complete the installation process. Acrobat DC and Animate both use the Windows Installer Service. If the new user account is unable to complete the installation, then please review the settings of the operating system and any installed security software to make sure UWP installations are not being blocked.
Hello Jeff,
same as Justicus, I do not have Beyondtrust Powerbroker installed, and I am running Windows 10 64bit (up to date).
But I am not using a trial account so I think can't easily delete my account to create a new one.
What can I do ?
Thanks you for any help or suggestions

I have run into this 505 error maybe half a dozen times now and 100% of the time, without fail, I have updated the drivers, rebooted, and adobe cloud updates again. A hassle, but much less hassle than creating a new Windows user, which in this case wouldn't fix my problem anyways if the issue is drivers...
I had the Secondary Logon Windows service disabled for security reasons. I set it to automatic and XD installed. This is my first time installing XD. Strange that I have not run into this before with Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Dreamweaver, InDesign or Acrobat, even though the Secondary Login service was disabled.
As per others in this thread, thanks for posting this solution! I ran into this a few months ago and called Adobe Support. I spent about 45 minutes watching the tech troll around inside my computer, in and out of everything related to Adobe that he could find, it seemed, and still he did not fix the problem. My apps (InD, Illustrator, PShop, and Acrobat DC) -- even the updates -- were all working all right, so I just ignored the error but this eve I decided to install Fresco, and it would not install. I figured it had to be the 505 error. I Googled the error code and found your solution. Totally fixed it! Made my day. Thanks so much.
It needs to include checking that Secondary Login service is set to automatic and not set to disabled. This is unique to XD. I have been using Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Dreamweaver, InDesign and Acrobat for over 10 years with this service disable. Whitout the information in this thread, I would not have been able to install it.
I am having an issue installing Adobe XD, before encountering error code 192, I installed the app "successfully" with quotation marks because I noticed that all of the files were missing and I am 100% certain to which drive and folder I installed it in, I tried it multiple times and it didn't seem to work, the installer said it has been installed successfully but it's not there (I even tried installing it in the default location), so then I tried updating windows because maybe this was a windows issue.
After finishing the windows update properly I tried installing Adobe XD again, only this time I get the error code 192, I looked it up and it says I have to uninstall the older version, and then going back to my previous problem, the files that I installed are missing, it is seemingly invisible and I don't know where to look for it.
I updated to Illustrator 2023 a couple of months ago and lost the extension, so I downloaded the current version and installed today. Now, when I go to sync a map to the artwork layers, it doesn't load any of the elements except for the copyright stamp. Otherwise, it's a blank white canvas and the layers are empty. I'm not getting any sort of error code...it tells me it's syncing successfully every time.
The Maps for Adobe team has just released the 3.5 version of the extension. We worked on resolving this issue in this release. To acquire this fix, please install the latest version of the extension. You can do that through the in-app upgrade, or you can find the latest installer on our product page.
I have a few questions for you that may help us narrow down the issue. Are you running the extension on a Mac? If possible can you send your computer's System info, and specific Illustrator and Maps for Adobe versions? That would all be very helpful.
2) Try uninstalling Maps for Adobe, uninstalling Adobe 2023, restarting your machine, reinstalling Adobe 2023, reinstalling the latest version of Maps for Adobe (it can be found here -us/arcgis/products/maps-for-adobecc/downloads)...and then try your sync workflow. If you try this option, please make sure you uninstall and reinstall in the specific order I mentioned above.
I tried these steps, and not only is it not working for me now, but the extension isn't working for anyone in my organization (all running Windows 11 I believe). We've also tried playing with installing older versions of Illustrator and/or the plugin to no success.
Unable to complete installation. Installation is performed on Windows 10. Error text: (Installation failed due to unknown error (Error code: 1).
I installed autoload from the site, installed the ofline version, installed the old ofline version, turned off the antivirus, turned off the firewall - the same error.
Help install the application. Please do not write, dear moderators, messages about reinstalling without antivirus, installing with the removal of previous versions, I did everything. Are there any new ideas that have not been written about in the following discussions:
-installs-integrations/Error-text-Installation-failed-due-to-...
-installs-integrations/Installation-failed-due-to-unknown-err...
The solution turned out to be funny, but not very. Simply, if you have another computer or laptop, and dropbox is working there, then copy the Program Files(x86) folder from your another computer to yours. I just installed win 11 on the hard drive without deleting the old system- win 10, and installed dropbox in win11 and then just copied it to win10 and everything worked. If there is the same error, but there is no way to get the files, then you can write here and ask for dropbox files... I'll send it, but I won't see the message right away.

I run Windows 10 and Adobe CC on my sdd, but install all of my adobe apps on my hdd. My hdd recently crashed and I replaced it with a new one. Ever since I replaced my hdd, I haven't been able to install Photoshop CC or Illustrator CC on either my SSD or new HDD. All other apps install just fine. I get the same error when attempting to install either programs:
1) For photoshop error, I no longer have a drive E:, so that's completely gone and I'm not sure why its targeting that drive/folder when my current install preferences are pointing to my new HDD drive D:.
I downloaded the PhotoShop & Illustrator direct download zip files. When I clicked both Photoshop & Illustrator "Set-up.exe" files from the zip folder, it gave me installer file maybe damaged error. It created the new directories:
C:>Program Files > Adobe > Adobe Illustrator CC 2018
