Hello All,

I need to capture student names in alphabetical characters instead of IDs in Formscanner. Any ideas on how to do this?

Thanks

Dear Muhammed,

Never thought about that possibility but maybe using the Braille alphabet. Yet, the students are going to need a guide how to write its own name using that system.

You can have something like several 2x3 "matrices" where each student can write the code for its name.

Best regards,

I really like Victor's suggestion with the braille; it is a very clever solution. However, it might be difficult to analyze and translate the bubbles into actual letters.

An easier solution would be to have 5-8 rows of 26 bubbles with the alphabet. You could have it span the top of the page.

Or you can use a software for Optical Character Recognition (OCR). With FormScanner we're using "just" Optical Mark Recognition (OMR).

Indeed, I think Chad's idea is probably the easier to implement considering the user experience and the space required in the page.
