Hello,

I have just started with this software, I've seen the tutorial video's but I still have a problem.

File name [ID] Question069 [ID] Question070 [ID] Question071 [ID] Question072 [ID] Question073 [ID] Question074 [ID] Question075 [ID] Question076 [vragen] Question046 [vragen] Question047 [vragen] Question048 [vragen] Question049 [vragen] Question050 [vragen] Question051 [vragen] Question052 [vragen] Question053 [vragen] Question054 [vragen] Question055 [vragen] Question056 [vragen] Question057 [vragen] Question058 [vragen] Question059 [vragen] Question060
trial run_Pagina_60 1 1 3 2 4 3 4 3 C B C D D C B C D D C C B B C
trial run_Pagina_61 0 1 4 3 5 7 8 9 B A C D B C A D E E D C C B A

The above is the result of a custom template. As you can see the ID is in the first 8 columns and then the questions (vragen). I've manually changed the order of things. First the questions then the ID.

However, It will not recognize the ID.
this is the result:

  ID SCORE Q1 Q2 Q3 Q4 Q5 Q6 Q7 Q8 Q9 Q10 Q11 Q12 Q13 Q14 Q15 Q16 Q17 Q18 Q19 Q20 Q21 Q22 Q23
  KEY 15 C B B|D|E B C D B C E B A B A A C
trial run_Pagina_60 N 5 C B C D D C B C D D C C B B C 1 1 3 2 4 3 4 3
trial run_Pagina_61 N 1 B A C D B C A D E E D C C B A 0 1 4 3 5 7 8 9

Hi Guys,

First of all very congratulation for making this revolutionary software.

I have just started using this software for one charity project and I am referring to video tutorials for self learning.

While software on my machine was able to read responses correctly but numeric ID fields couldnot be recognised. I think I am facing same problem as faced by Joeri

I am attaching scanned image file & process bubble screen shot for your reference.

Awaiting your reply soon.

Chad emailed me yesterday and I figured something out for myself.

You have to make sure that the number of questions in C2 is set correctly. You have to make sure that the ID follows afters all the questions. And!!! The excel worksheet expects a comma seperated value. If you like me used MS Excel to open the csv file, try using notepad.

Many thanks Joeri; it worked for me when I opened CSV file using notepad.

Have you tried alphanumeric ID formats like in attached image? Please let me know how to read such formats using formscanner

Hello Harshal,

In my mind I have answered this question more then once, however no answers in this forum.

Your biggest problem with alphanumeric ID's is the amount of possible symbols. The software does not discriminate between numbers and characters.

In your example, it is possible to make an layout with 5 possible answers AB 012, and forget the space in between. Or you make 2 groups of questions, one with the characters for the first 2 symbols and then without the digits.

Make sure the order in wich you receive the symbols is correct.

Hi Joeri,

Apologies for late reply, was away with project work.

I tried 2nd option in your suggestion viz. "make 2 groups of questions, one with the characters for the first 2 symbols and then without the digits" but couldnot get character+digit in ID field of processbubbles excel sheet. It is just catching numeric fields in ID field.

Can I request you to try at your end and let me know if it works? Just to check if I am doing something wrong.

If it doesnt work for you as well, then we will have to request Chad to suggest -how we can tackle this issue in current version or do we need to consider this in next version upgrade.

Cheers,
Harshal
