SirfEk Bandaa Kafi Hai is a courtroom drama[9][10] inspired by actual events of a five-year-long standalone fight of a regular session court lawyer Adv. P. C. Solanki (Manoj Bajpayee) stands for the truth and his struggle to bring justice to a minor. The plot is based on the trial of Asaram for the rape of a minor.[11]
Principal photography started on 9 October 2022, when it was also announced that Manoj Bajpayee has been signed to play the lead.[13][14] The film was primarily shot in Mumbai.[15] The shoots were wrapped by December 2022.[16]
Advocate P. C. Solanki filed case against producers of the film because of violation of his intellectual property rights.[17] The Sant Shri Asaramji Ashram Charitable Trust sent a legal notice to the producers of the film right after the trailer launch.[18][19]
Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai received critical acclaim from critics. The Hindu wrote "Despite a pumped-up narrative style, the film looks realistic, shot in life-size courtrooms and streets. And there are some memorable juxtapositions, all of them featuring Solanki."[21]
Grace Cyril for India Today rated the movie 3 stars out of 5 and wrote "With a narrative so sensitive, the screenplay has been handled with the utmost care. There's a scene where a lawyer asks Nu if the godman made her touch his private parts. Even though he is defending the godman, he gets ashamed asking this and the entire court falls silent."[23]
Deepa Gahlot for Rediff.com rated the movie 3.5 stars out of 5 and wrote "Karki deftly balances the emotions of hope and despair and at one level, the film makes the audience feel good, that Nu and Solanki's battle was not in vain."[24]
Pinkvilla wrote "The courtroom drama deals with the subject matter in a very delicate and sensitive way. Not just audiences having an inclination towards courtroom films but everyone should enjoy watching the film."[25]
A critic from The Quint wrote "In focusing on the ek bandaa (one man) at the centre of the courtroom drama, we see little of the stories bubbling around him. The way the pressure of "proving" allegations of sexual misconduct falls on the survivor is hinted at but not explored."[29]

Mumbai, the commercial capital of India, is a city that never sleeps. Rapidly changing at a feverish pace with every passing second, it is always on the move and so are the people living in it. In this story, we take an insight into the lives of the people living in this city and how the pace of the city affects their relationships and how they deal with it. No matter what happens life has to go on.
This is also a story of four couples and their lives in a metropolitan city. They belong to different social and financial strata and every one has got its own problems to deal with. What one couple has, the other doesn't? Each couple looks at the other couple and wishes that if only they had what the other couple does, their life would be a bed of roses, be it on a monetary level or on moral terms. What seems to be a major and almost insoluble problem for the first couple is just a petty issue for the second. Similarly, second couple's serious problem is not looked upon as a problem at all by the first and likewise so, with the other two couples. In a pursuit to achieve what they lack and in a desperate search of that one thing that would solve all their problems, they find themselves lost in the ever-moving crowd, where no one has time for themselves, leave aside the cares of the world.
In due course of time, all four couples come together with a distant vision of that one event which would end all their problems and set them free. Is it reality or just a figment of their vivid imagination?
Dyslexia and related learning disabilities were taboo subjects until Taare Zameen Par hit the theatres. Here a mega movie star used the creative platform of storytelling to sensitize parents, teachers, peers, friends and the general populous about a veiled topic that got ridicule as reaction, at best. Such is the enormous power wielded by movies and influence exerted by personalities that the nuance belying hitherto neglected, yet important subjects, becomes a part of everyday conversations.
It would not be an exaggeration to screen the film as a source of learning for every professional involved in the justice system, beginning with police personnel, medical officers and lawyers to clerks, judges and media.
Actor Manoj Bajpayee's upcoming film Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai has received legal notice from self-styled godman Asaram Bapu. As per a new report, Asaram sent the notice to the makers of the film through his charitable trust. A trial court had sentenced Asaram Bapu to life imprisonment in 2018 for the rape of a minor at an ashram in Jodhpur in 2013. The trailer of the film has a disclaimer that said that it is inspired by real-life incidents. A courtroom drama Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai is written by Deepak Kingrani. It is the story of a high court lawyer who single-handedly fought a case for the rape of a minor under the POCSO Act.
Speaking with Times of India, producer Asif Shaikh said, "Yes, we have got the notice and our lawyers will decide the next move. We have made a biopic on PC Solanki and I had bought the rights from him to make this film. Now, if someone is saying that the film is based on them, they can think whatever they can and we can't stop that. Only the film will be able to tell the truth, when it comes out."
As per the report, Asaram also asked the court to issue prohibitory orders against the promotion as well as the release of the film. According to the report, his lawyers claimed that the film is highly objectionable and defamatory towards their client. They also added that it can tarnish his reputation and affect the sentiments of his followers.

The upcoming film marks the second collaboration between the actor, director Apoorv Singh Karki and producer Vinod Bhanushali after their critically-acclaimed film Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai, which had a digital release in May.

Manoj Bajpayee once again proved his acting prowess in his new film, Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai. The film followed the real events of a brave and resilient Advocate Poonam Chand Solanki who fought a POCSO case against a self-styled godman. The movie received critical acclaim and a positive response from the audience.
Days after its release, it has now come to light that Advocate P.C Solanki has sent a legal notice to the film's producer for violating his intellectual property rights. As per a report from DNA, the producer informed that the names of all the characters in the film were changed except Manoj Bajpayee's character as they had only PC Solanki's rights.
It is now being reported that the lawyer is unhappy with the film. As quoted by DNA, P.C. Solanki stated, ''How can it be claimed that the movie is inspired by real-life events involving me when no NOC was collected from me, nor the script was approved by me?''. He further revealed that the people who signed an agreement with him sold the rights unbeknownst to him.
Solanki further added, ''I have filed a case in the trial court and notices have been served to the producers and others,'' Solanki also added that he was kept in the dark about the deal. He also blamed the party who bought it for failing to inform him of the same. ''My intellectual property rights have been violated,'' he condemned the actions of the parties involved.
Outside the courtroom, Solanki, a devout Shiva worshipper, provides emotional and moral support to the victim, reinforcing her faith in justice. His firm belief in righteousness and his dedication to his profession helps him combat the threats that come his way.
Indeed, a significant and tragic element of the real-life case that parallels the movie is the intimidation and violence faced by witnesses, including multiple murder attempts and successful assassinations.
The Asaram Bapu case saw key witnesses facing extreme threats and violence for their willingness to testify against the godman. At least three key witnesses met their untimely death, with others surviving attacks or receiving death threats. These incidents appeared as clear attempts to intimidate other potential witnesses and obstruct the course of justice.
