Dear Jeff et al.,
It is probab;y ok if we submit Wed or Thus morning, as long as
we make tomorrow an entry in the submission system (so that they
can allocate reviewers to the paper).
For the entry one needs
- author list
- designate a corresponding author
- a tentative title
- tell them under which categories it falls
(for selection of reviewers)
Here a possible suggestion for the writing, but feel free
to take another approach if you have already worked
out how to go about it:
1 Collect the type of maintenance problems one
is facing / foreseeing and group them if
there are common characteristics.
(calibration problems, consumed resource,
random damage, transient faults, wear)
2 Abstract the simple robot platform to a
set of capabilities which is realistic for
the low cost robots. This set then
forms the assumption under which the
strategies/algorithms are proposed.
(unique id, know its own remaining power,
can exchange (communicate) integers with
line-of-sight neighbours within radius r)
3 Then show for the classes from (1)
solutions that do not require anything
more than what is available according to (2).
4 Discuss hardware and how all of (2)
can be satisfied by the proposed design.
5 Discuss how reality differs from 2
