I have a group of agents who need access to the same form.  Instead of me having to fwd the email forms to them, is there a way for an email to be sent to them based on the potential client's submission choice?

For instance, clients will fill out this form & will choose an agent from a dropdown list.  I would like, if possible, the form to automatically be emailed to the agent that the client selects from the dropdown menu.  I don't want the email addresses to be displayed & I can't set up a form for each agent.  So I'd like to see if this function can be utilized somehow.

Thanks in advance for any info that can be provided!

yes, use a drop down box for the selection, then you an IF Fomula to Auto filll in a new column on the spreadsheet., when someone chooses agent A then Agent A Email name would appear in the new column due to the IF Formula, then have the form mailer mail to the email provided in the formula field.

example A2 = Agent A then B2 = Age...@email.com    form mailer looks to column B for the email address to send to.

Hello Henrique,

I just installed your script and let me congratule you, it rocks!

I´m replying here, because I have a similar question, maybe you can help me.
I also wanted to send conditional mails according to a field users fill in the form.
I have a field where they put the zone where they live, and I would like to send the new line submtitted to mail A, if zone A is selected, to mail B if zone B is selected, and so on..
I just created a new column in my spreadsheet that works of with a vlookup formula and fills the email I want to send, my problema is how can I apply that formula to the new lines each time a new submission takes place...
Did I explain it well? sorry for my english...
Kind regards

Hi Rui,

Yes, you explained it fine. What you're looking for is the formulas location parameter. Please take a look at these other messages:
Error sending email: Exception: Invalid email: #N/A

If you still have doubts after reading them, please feel free to ask again.

Kind regards,

Henrique Abreu

Hi Henrique,

It worked like a charm!!! Thanks!
Just changed the place where to "read" the formula, and voilá!

Just another question by the way, I wanted to add a new column with the ID of the responses (numeric sequence, line 2=line1 +1).
I tried to change the local of the formulas to read 2 columns now (Responses!P:Q), but only my P formula (in which I have the vlookup formula for the mail) worked!!! The id formula didn´t processes on a new submission, is this a limitation or am I doing anything wrong?

Many thanks

No, this is not a limitation. You're probably doing something wrong.

If you copy or formula on Q2 manually and paste it on any cell bellow (e.g. Q3, Q4), does it work as expected?

Yes, if I copy the formula manually it works.
I had to did that because I already have 28 lines.
But on a new submission the formula doesn´t seem to process, but the formula in P column still works...
My sintaxe on your form config, formula location is: Responses!P:Q
