Hello -

I have installed your FormEmailer script on several forms for my site. However while playing around with the forms I noticed that if I add a new form field after the script is installed, it overwrites the FormEmailer Status column with the new form field. Then when the script runs, the data in that column is overwritten by the 'Email Sent' value. Therefore that data is lost as soon as the email is sent. Is there any way to get around this so we don't have to re-create the form every time we want to add a new field?

Thanks!

Hello - any sort of update on this issue? We're anxious to go-live with our forms but this is a problem we need to fix!

Hi,

You must be using some older version of FormEmailer. The latest version puts the status column as the first column on the spreadsheet, therefore avoiding this problem. Please look at the upgrade instructions here:

I have to confirm this: the first column of my answers file (taken by formmailer) has been overwritten by a newly added field. Maybe worth a double check :)

Cheers

Actually, I just installed it a few weeks ago and I'm using whatever version Google has up right now.

The status does indeed go into the first column but that column is actually getting overwritten. I'm not sure if Google maybe updated on their end to start with the first "empty" column or not, but that first column is DEFINITELY getting overwritten if I add a form field.

Ok, thanks for testing. They have indeed changed that.

Well, in that case, you should move/copy this column elsewhere before you add a new question, after you finished editing your form, place it back as the first one on the spreadsheet.

There's no other workaround for that now. I'll keep this issue in mind when developing a next version for this script.
